plans have already been drafted up by Juncker last month and announced to be implemented in december.... Draghi's going to re-iterate it in the minutes this week....
the actual easing will happen in december.

I am not sure if John is still alive, he was in his late 60s when I knew him, or if the charts are still available. I was using his chart system back in 2006 through 2008 and believe me the charts were absolutely scary accurate to the point where the forecasts were unbelieveable but totally correct. http://www.investopedia.com/articles.../04/060204.asp this site has a good explanation of Johns charts and comparison to the market profile tool, a good read.

After taking a break and trading a demo account, i have looked long and hard at stategy and time frame and what i want is a system that can be traded at any time through the day... Just to make a quick 10 pips on every trade... In and out.. No trying to catch the trend... Catching the trend and then leaving it, seeing the price crash all the way... Watching your profitable trade dissipate at the next news event..
So i looked at just the 5 minute chart, 20 and 5 ema cross.. And entering at the first crossover and just leaving the price to reach the meager goal of 10 pips even if there is another crossover against you... Ive been suprised how this works, i think the most the price went against me was 60 pips, normally just 20 pips... So far every time over the last weeks i have bagged the 10 pip trades... There must be something in this...

im trying to use the larger timeframes to draw channels to set stops...

Again there must be something in this... It happens several times a day.... I know over the last week or 2 there has been no real trend... Maybe this strategy will mess me up when it starts trending and i the same number of bigger losses than the 10 pip wins...

its worth a try though...

You're right -- it could have worked fine in the sideways market that we had last week. But now after a strong breakout (ir we're talking EU) the risk is much larger, beware. One thing that strikes me in this strategy is the 1/6 reward to risk ratio (given that you allow it to go 60 pips against the position), which calls for a consistent ca. 90 pct win rate over dozens or hundreds of trades to be profitable, something that will not happen. Ten or twelve winners in a row may feel cool, but it takes two losers in that series to burn all profit. And what if you have three or four losers in ten trades? Generally, for strategy building, imho, a good starting place is the Van Tharp theory on risk multiples and in order to succeed you must have your profit targets/wins be larger (preferably by a factor of at least 2 to 3) than what you risk, and have the mental toughness to see your trades to those targets, too. There's a simple math to it, and there's no way one can cheat the math in markets. Just my 2 cents...

I am following this 10 pips strategy since long and it works pretty well. Search a system/method/pattern that suits you and is profitable and you are done

indeed the eurchf is 100% speculators vs SNB (and "its speculators") for a while...and will continue that way... but still when i talk about the swiss "talking" i am including the speculators as well... because on this pair there are two kinds of speculators...the ones "working with" SNB (meaning the believe along with SNB will make it) and the others ones against it...

its going to be a hard "game" indeed... but i expect it to be a small one if it starts before the "gold issue"

it was a trick someone told me and i have done it just for sundays to know whats going on before the market "officially" opens and not having to refresh bloomberg or xe ;-)

I use these values only to think about for the real start on Monday morning so I donīt need absolute accuracy, I am about to sleep soon. I never trade Asia nor a potential gap. But thanks anyway

Interesting, how do we know it wasn't the work of SNB? Were MMs bidding it up to take advantage of selling it from a higher level in advance of further easing?
