Favourable USD news and yet within the last thirty minutes Euro surpasses its highest point of the day by over 400 pips! So it has moved in the complete opposite direction to what was expected. Anyone looking at the charts would think that the news had been unfavourable to the USD when in fact it was a resounding victory. Thus it seems we have a nasty stop loss hunt here. These malicious twist and turns make long term trading more favourable. Finance one's account well, and look for long term trends. Make sure stop losses are large enough to contain the irritating stop loss hunts. Day trading is too hot to handle.

That's what I keep thinking and have been wary of shorting E/U too much. E/U has to rise or U/Chf has to rise or both! And whatever it is, if one is falling the other one of the two underlying has to rise more than the other to ensure the peg. So far though the E/U spike hasn't exactly done a whole, whole lot for E/Chf.

Somebody was more concerned about your shorts. I know you closed all shorts but I don't know how to retrieve and respond to that person. So I kept silent.

Anyway, it is too early to predict next week trend. Enjoy scalping now.

Its dollar weakness. EU was due for this and still has room to go if it wants lol. New sell on at 2522

If it was Swiss national bank. than we see a strange price action in gold, euro/chf, usd/chf and eur/us.

Yeah I would have to agree about the short from 1.2525 and below, if you noticed all my posts have been pointing to this for awhile this was my pivot point I suspect some of the biggest banks int he world are protecting this point don't think they want it to go much higher.

Well, I am sceptical. The referendum should be on Nov. 30th and it's notoriously difficult to predict what the outcome will be. Nevertheless, as a good risk manager the SNB might be buying some gold atm, its relatively cheap if you look at the last years, and I guess they cannot allow themselves to be caught on the wrong foot.
And yes, Jordan is worried. I still don't believe they will just scrap the peg.
I don't know about the legalities involved, if this referendum would be binding, etc. More of that will probably come out in time. Maybe they adjust this referendum in such a way: do you want Switzerland to have a central bank? I think its funny to have a lender of the last resort but then bind his hands.

The way out for SNB, if they have to bind themselves more to gold: abandon the peg, wait till Echf is at 0.8 (Uchf way lower, too) and then buy gold.... They can close down their factories and tourist business by then, and it will be interesting to see how they protect their borders...

I doubt this is just rumor - it has rallied $41 per ounce ..... dragging all XXXUSD down .

I see eurusd heading up on wave (c) of an irregular correction, towards somewhere above 1.2886 top of (a). While anything can happen.
