So true.... well said WDays. Im trying to learn this system as are many other newbies, but I keep getting side tracked reading all the over complicated exit and entry options.

Understandable, been there done that. But here's the deal, TMS is simple, look for good market conditions in particular a trending market, then just be patient, open trades at times where markets overlap so you're sure that it will fly. When you've chosen, just lower your eyes to the indicator section of your chart and see what TDI's telling you. You have a cross and you have a bounce. The reason I'm saying that you need to see green come over or under red clearly is because if you take the plunge on a simple touch of green and red you may be looking at a bounce trade setup (trend continuation) and get your SL hit.

Exits are not as important as some claim them to be, simply because if you're raking in good pips on 8/10 trades, it compounds to a good amount. Pick the right market and set a 50 to 100 pip TP, forget it and come back in a few hours rinse and repeat several times and you'll see how your account suddenly grew 60% in one week (that's what I got last week).

edit: one more thing, you can backtest to see exactly how TDI crosses play out by hiding part of your chart and advancing a candle at a time using the F12 key (I think?) on metatrader. It really helps grasping the concept of TDI crosses and bounce trades.

Thanks WDays, Im only looking to bag 50 pips a week at this time, eventually I would like to increase that to 150 a week, then my early retirement plan can kick in lol.

That's kinda what I did bro I've a 200 pip weekly target and a 800 pip monthly target... I average 100 pips per week easy, because I'm still a little chicken when it comes to letting profits run for longer than 50 pips. I can see my weekly pippage increase after every week. Started off with 50, moved on to 90ish, I hit 140 last week and hopefully I'll be getting them 200s soon. It took me a very long time to realize how much I was being brainwashed with wrong and useless information. I started only following lastingwell and bizzle's trades for a while, looking to see where they took a trade and soon started to notice a pattern. Look for the pattern, it's the key to early retirement Ignore all other things such as TA and MM rules for now.

As WDays said, for my chart training, I tape paper to my monitor and then step through the charts using the F12 key to simulate trading. Do this and mentally take trades, then 'close' them appropriate and then go back and see why a trade worked or didn't work and also if you should have or could have held or closed a trade longer/earlier.

I am doing using TMS in the original simplified manner and results have been very good, but as also mentioned over and over, a trending market is needed. If a pair is ranging or choppy I usually avoid the pair, and look for a pair that is trending.

Many many thanks WDays! I too have being trying to understand this strategy and your post has clarified many things! I'm interested to know why the EMA was dropped and when this happened? "...The way we trade it today is without the EMA..." also have there been any other updates that we should know about? Thank you!!!

I personally find the EMA redundant. It doesn't filter many trades for me and I just use a 200 and 800 EMA as support or resistance levels. I used to have a 10EMA on my chart but found that it just complicated things and I never used it as much as I thought I would, so I ditched that too. TDI is king

So, 'simply' (lol...) put we have Heiken Ashi + TDI + entry & exit as described above and we are good to go!

In order to succeed you need 3 things 1. Pay attention to the basics, support/resistance or supply/demand zones, consolidation etc. 2. filter out TDI crosses, don't just take any type of cross - only the clear ones, if green is just touching red this is not a valid signal! a clear and obvious cross. If you have to, wait for the next candle, just make sure you can see green coming...

Please keep in mind this is a free forum and just about anyone can post a bunch of bulls#@! and make himself sound like he knows stuff. Don't try to preempt. The opportunity will still be there after the candle closes, but in case it turns out it was no opportunity you will not get burned. Patience is the key, that's why I open trades at 10 am GMT+2 (London open) and sometimes at 3 pm gmt+2 (NY open), but only if a good cross catches my eye.

In the figure below, I would have taken a shot trade. But, the price is entered the Guppy long. I know the TDI angle is not good. What you would do in those situation where the price will bounce of the PAC but does not continue in the direction of Guppy trend. This example may not be that good. This situation happens very often and that's where my confidence will go down drastically and fear to take even good trade. Pl. advise.

ababias if you would allow me. I scrolled back to the area in your question and here is what I see based on the plain ol' TMS criteria.

1. The cross happened at the 3rd red candle.
2. and the candles were tiny. Not counting the wick, the down move it made was only 8 pips. Look left, look at the size of those red candles that moved down. Or the blue candle that moved up. Those easily made 20-40 pips in 1 candle.
3. TDI Red still heading up = lower probability.

So there you go. 3 points to stay out of that trade you could have spotted at a glance based on TMS.

It's ok to apply other things but you can't overlook the basics. Which I think is really your case here; paying too much attention to the add-ons, forgetting about the core.

Thanks for the useful & refreshing inputs. I think all the members who are following this thread for years will agree with what you said. I am just trying to gather some knowledge apart from the TDI which other seniors members uses with other strategies. I am here to gain knowledge from all the members who have wisdom in their own way.

For a while, with my work load and other family activities not able to concentrate on the early morning trades on 4H as Big B used to execute his trade. As my work load is reduced, I will focus on 4H on London opening times. Monitoring the 4H trades are difficult as I will be usually in office during those hours. My time is EST. I need to lot of home work right now. Let me back test the things which emphasised on what Big B said at starting.

Do you trade the TDI cross only during start of London hours or any other timing? If you don't mind, let us know the pairs you usually good for the TDI cross.

All members -> Anyone are welcomed to comment on my views. I will take your positive or negative comments in positive frame of mind. I am here to learn and nothing else bothers me.

TDI cross on the third candle is a risky trade. What you pointed out the size of the candle and number of pips move are things which need to be learned. I need to glance on left of the screen, what PA is doing?
