What we witnessed yesterday was the result of fire-cracker or domino effect: There was a huge buy interest for AUDUSD yesterday, however, many buyers placed tide stop loss ranging from 0.88600 to 0.87750. Therefore, when the price dropped market makers were hard at taking all the stop losses.

However, I strongly believe that we are on our way to hit 0.90 and there is no doubt in my mind ( This is my own opinion ).

Thanks due) Thank you for Educating and incisive remark on Longs covering avalanche effect - similar to "shorts squeeze" effect - but in Reverse...

1) Agreed on 0.9

2 ) about the part of "No doubt in mind". Doubt everything ( citing Albert E.)

3) IMHO going higher still - 0.92 at the least

Bulls protecting the 50% retracement level of the range. 50% retracement is always a good place to enter trades with a good R:R whether you are long or short...

Seeing how quickly bulls have piled on at this level, made me look across the range to see, overall, if either has taken control consistently.

If you want to determine when bulls or bears take control in a range, look at who starts taking over at the 50% retracment level. Eventually, it becomes the bottom/top. In this case, I think it is becoming the bottom...

Again, my view/opinion is we will see lower prices eventually. But I think it will go higher first. Look at the chart and see how many daily closes above the 50% level of the range over past 20 days since the overall scope of the range was defined. Who's winning the battle?

You are safe until .8826 for certain. Hopefully the market will soften up and give you some better long entries.

Please correct me if I'm wrong - but this seems to be a stop-loss hunting executed by some institutional on a retail trader with a stop-loss... i.e. notable loss for the small trader, not profit.

If this interpretation is wrong - please correct and explain.

This is the spirit. People, if you want to go long please place logical stops since your broker can see it. The more trades you do the more profit comes into your broker's pocket. They do not care if you make profit or lose money. All they want is you make more trades. This is how they make money and why they love to take your stop loss.

While I agree with you, I have no evidence to support my belief. What I can say is that I knew that the short phase was over at .8755. There were long phase targets open above my entry and the closest one not obtained was at .8806. This made the .8806 target the safest long trade just before the news. Even though I had a good trade, my best entry was still a good 25 pips above the spike lower. I cant get all of the meat off the bone, just a share of it. I'm ok with that.

After looking at both the weekly and daily charts and see that the previous move down failed to penetrate support, I am thinking we are headed higher. Maybe the .9000 level?

AUDUSD price is slowly trying to go higher and in my opinion it will hit 0.90. What we long have to learn from yesterday's action is that FOREX trading is full of manipulation by financial institutions, brokers and market makers.
