We need some sort of reference or the the yardstick to measure. My USD/JPY position is just that measure, it won't make a difference if it ends 1,000 pips up or 1.000 pips down.

If it make it sense to "YOU" trade what makes sense to "YOU". It is all about that.

If you have an edge the more you try the more you make (just like a casino).

Reading:
Dr. Tharp defines the following four components of expectancy:

  1. Reliability, or what percentage of time you make money.
  2. The relative size of your profits compared with your losses.
  3. Your cost of making a trade. (commission & slippage)
  4. How often you get the opportunity to trade.

The fourth item in that list is a very important and often overlooked aspect of trading. If you had two systems that both had the same positive expectancy, let’s say $100, the system that produced more trades would make more money over time. For example, system A produces 3 trades per week while system B produces 10 trades per week. After just one week B would have made $1,000 while A would only have made $300.
Gary B. Smith has discussed this before:
I think of my equity as inventory. In that respect, my goal is to maximize not profit per dollar, but profit per dollar per day. In essence, I try to make a small percentage on my equity each day, but compound that amount as rapidly as possible.

Lol... Trust me... You're preaching to the choir. But the fact remains this is still a heavily debated subject. Conversely I don't think anyone calling themselves a scientist or at least a physicist these days would even consider that acceleration would affect the speed of light.

This may look strange, but a fact. Read carefully what I write below.

Few years ago, I led a meditation session. The group meditated from 4:00 am to 5:00 am (in the morning). How I was selected as the group leader was in itself no less than a miracle (or a rare coincidence, if you like to put it that way). On receiving my consent to act as voluntary group leader, I got calls from the Selection Committee, they were surprised and wanted to reconfirm from me that it was no mistake and I actually consented to lead this group at this time of the early morning for the next one year. My voluntary duties were personally approved by one very well known multi-billionaire (won't mention his name) as a final step. On completion of one year, my duties were extended for another six months. You may not believe, but miracles happened during that 18 month period.

During one of these meditation sessions, I got a trading idea. What you mentioned above is one part of that idea. But there is one more component or the other part. For about a couple of years, I tried to find logic of what came to my mind during that meditation session. Couldn't get it. Then, another miracle, and I got a method from X.oden, a FF member. He claims that this method comes from a billionaire. I don't know who that billionaire is, but that made everything crystal clear but only after a detailed research stretched over five years.
