Probably because Bunds are denominated in EURs and Treasuries are in USD and also the inflation rates are very different! ... hence looking at the nominal yields means very little, as there is cross currency basis risk.

What you need to do, is account for EURUSD x-CBS' /or/ look at same denomination debt (i.e. USD debt for european nations)

Its like when people said spanish debt is lower yielding than US debt when the yield was less the other week ... instant tell-tell sign that they have no clue how fixed income works.

I saw something on Youtube earlier to get away from all the crazy news, about Alistair Overeem UFC fighter is taking some crazy drug for the muscle ......... so it's true athletes do that .....

its almost like saying china asia is buying debt. and a low usd rate has nothing to do with it. if you follow the money. china got its usd indirectly from the fed.. the fed supplied it cheaply by lending it to u.s. companies/consumers to start off with. then they bought china stuff with usd.. follow the money..

Yeah, some athletes do that because a lot of money is involved and not a single fuck is given about health. In UFC you also have to consider that most of these fighters are suffering from low intelligence as it seems ... hammering one's head for years with massive fists and high kicks cannot be too good for thinking about organic stuff ...

German 5s and 2s...

Yes, EUR debt does yield 0% from Germany, but to accurately compare to US, they need to be in the same currency... hence we adjust for X-CBS and the yield is infact 0.4% as per chart
