102 finally broken, entered few longs around 101.8 and 102.01 waiting for the first resistance at 102.20 so let's see how it will react. somehow I feel that UJ will rise much more but maybe it's just my fantasy talking not rationality.

USD is notorious for squeezing into the FOMC and then it completely reverses, I'd be careful.

Anybody know how much movement in pips we will be having? Assuming that it doesn't end up whipsaw or reversing.

GDP: 15-20 pips (positive or negative)
FOMC: 40-120 pips (positive or negative)
NFP: 15-40 pips (positive or negative)

How does this sound?

Hi Pip,

You're right, but also price has come too close for it not to complete its W-shape (H4). What's left of it.
Even if it has to use a spike due to news-momentum. The markets is stubborn as we know.

As I missed the buy opportunity.....I'm waiting for a retracement around 102.227 and 102.267.

market looks to be bullish ahead of the upcoming ADP and GDP news. Im thinking of targeting 102.5. what do you think?

Im undecided looks like a good long but something is telling me short. Would love to hear some more experienced voices on this.

Downtrend line at 102.45 currently.
Serious news at 12:15 and 12:30 (GMT) bound to do something.

It's a strange day because we have the ADP Unemployment, GDP & then later the FOMC minutes all in one day. If the ADP & GDP come in as expected or better, it could definitely reach for the upper 102's. If that happens then the minutes comes out sounding hawkish, then it could definitely break above 103.


Or it could just fly around like something's really going to happen, then it will just revert to wherever it opened and back to range time again (likely imo, unless the reports are way out of expectations)

Yesterday Japan's industrial production report came in negative again. This is 5 months in a row. A Japanese official said the last time that occurred was right before Japan went into recession. This could also be causing the yen to weaken, because it could mean that Japan may need to increase QE or extend it longer than expected.

CORRECTION: Japanese Official says Industrial Production shows shipments falling 5 months straight, which is similar to last time Japan entered recession.

having breached the descending trend line resistance near 102.20, Can we expect 102.75-80 for UJ? There seems 20 pips gap between supports on the downside, 102.20, 102 and 101.80 (40-EMA on H4).
