Do you use tick data only or lvl2 as well?

I would say there's no way to predict ahead when things like big moves will happen, however I find its better to look for retests of originating points of the large moves because what usually happens is that a similar move will reoccur again. So what I'm saying is, trade the chart rather than predict the future.

Tick range charts are useful for weeding out supply and demand made due to lack of trading activity (such as overnight moves or quiet sessions) from the S/D made because of actual active buying/selling.

Hello doggette, first sentence is spot on... no need for crystal ball. As for chart type I found it useful to switch around between volume (very rarely, at least for me), tick and time depending on picture that I want to see. After all, my goal is to trade setup instead just jumping in randomly, I guess...

I'm sorry, this part I did not understand... "retest of originary points"?


this example, two big moves occurred, then market went back, but no big moves for a few days...
