Just thought I'd start this thread since there hasn't been a thread dedicated to NAS100 trading only. There are currency threads, DAX, DOW and even SP500 threads, but this is the first NAS100 only thread on *Forex Factory*. With the multitude of traders here and with foreign brokers offering CFDs on NAS100 futures as well, there must be several traders here that love trading NAS100.

Here's your place to post your thoughts and trades.

Usual caveats apply. Don't use this thread to base your trades. Moderator and posters are not responsible for anyone's losses. Trade responsibly, using only risk capital you can afford to lose.

Last but not least, anything that even faintly has the aroma of SPAM will be flagged and member will be banned and reported to FF without warning.

3 simple requests and reminders:

1. Nas100 related posts only.

2. Respect your fellow trader here. Anything that could be considered disrespectful to another person here will be cause for banishment.

3. No spam, or anything that even smells of spam. It's obvious if you are trying to promote something even though you may claim you aren't, so don't do it.

Some traders are trading CME futures, others may be trading CFDs based on the futures. Please recognize that the data of each will be close but not exact and usually off by 0.25 to 1.00 depending on whether the poster is personally trading CME or CFD. Please realize that there could be a +/- few ticks differential when reading or posting.

Why NAS100 futures?

1. Better volatility usually, compared to SP500 futures and Dow futures. More money on the table that can be grabbed.

2. Centralized exchange price data. Even with broker created CFDs, since price data is centralized and traded on a real exchange and based on 100 high cap stocks, price data for the underlying is harder to manipulate, less prone to spikes and spread is usually not off by more than 2 or 3 ticks if trading the CFD futures and usually only 1 tick if trading the CME futures.

3. NAS100 futures like the other US stock indices are a good proxy for USD currencies. NAS goes up, EURUSD goes down and vice versa is a pretty good signal or indication of possible USD fx moves. Today is a good example...when NAS went up, EURUSD starting falling (in favor of USD) around the same time period, a confirmation of both trades, and increased profits if both trades are taken.

4. Tracking USD fx and a few popular NAS100 stocks such as the ones below can give you a clue about prospective price movement:

Apple (AAPL) – 14.60%
Microsoft (MSFT) – 7.40%
Amazon (AMZN) – 3.84%
Google (GOOG) Class C – 3.50%
Facebook (FB) – 3.41%

Still newbie to it, approximately 1-2 trades per day, some days none. Most are still in ES while I am getting more familiar with NQ. Using the same system as with 15/30s EU (Raghee Horner 34 Wave Ema & some more MA's) but on 3x larger non time based TF's now (1x renko, 2x range, 1x 30m). I am using confirmation on all 3 non-time charts to enter plus EU & ES charts (sup/res). Splitting session to overnight - 9:30am NY (my favorite due to lower volatility) & NY open-close, not touching it between NY open - London close (11:00am). My playground which I am still tweaking for best settings:

Nikkei is also one of the indicators that will decide the trend of Nasdaq especially when you see a gap in Nikkei opening hours

Last couple of weeks I came up with a modified s/r indi that I'm testing/using as micro trend and reverse instead of stop and reverse. I'm now forward testing it within an EA and working on making it MTF readable within the EA...this is the evolution of the crazy volatility lines I was posting in the scalping thread previously. The indi can be adjusted to work on any instrument, but right now the NAS100 is just too nice.

That trade today that I announced here at this time:
http://www.forexfactory.com/showthre...76#post8684976

Just closed by the EA at 4327.50 for +64.25 (which is the max optimized profit per trade for the current settings). Could have/Should have shorted EURUSD at the same time but am too focused on making sure this EA trades and exits as programmed. Now waiting for next entry.

I trade E-Mini Nasdaq on Ninja trader.

Emini NQ is easier than ES S&P500 as the pip (point) value is only $5 as against $12.50 on the S&P. (per 0.25 of a point)
Much easier on the nerves when the DD gets a little large.
I only use one indicator. It is the closest I can get to the "Halftrend" I use on MT4. EMA14 equivalent but slightly smoother.

Looks like you're using a 4 hour chart there basically. NQ can move a lot in 4 hours these days.

The 5mn chart is my favorite for this symbol and 1mn too, but sometimes 1mn will chop out some good long half day moves.

Short scalp/swing coming soon I think...

EURUSD could have pivoted up...looking to short here soon already down 3.0 from posting time, waiting for one more indi to confirm.

NOW SHORT at 4314 even (manual scalp)

Placing hard stop at 18.5

Previous manual scalp stopped out at -4.5

Currently long with another manual scalp from under 4300 even, now above BE. Another break below 4300 will take me out BE+ otherwise this will be an overnight hold.

Are you with NT brokerage?

I have it coming down to 4310-20 before launching again. Unless dax opens up bullish right away other than the gap up in 15 min.

Agreed. I would like to see a drop to the bottom of this wedge then a break-out long to confirm the trade. 4270 would be my aim. Daily pivot point at 4240 so expect a pull-back there.

Not sure if she's going to the pivot today. If she stalls out here today, it's all she wrote for today, else if she blows past 20 then a pull back at the pivot is likely.

Opinion...there will be a retail trader sell off today in the underlying stocks....all those self directed etraders are going to sell their stocks in their IRA portfolios and go to cash when they see/hear/read about yesterday's continued drop. This move up to 4210 was just institutions balancing their underlying, but there could be a bunch of retail sell at market open orders waiting for NY open and MMs are seeing those orders start to accumulate on the books. Not sure if they have enough to push the futures up more today. We're hovering back at 4200 ish and a drop back down is now likely. EURUSD has also bounced off lows.

I am betting on full reversal today. Nikkei already got ~ 60-70% back.

DAX closed the gap, maybe we can go more up now.

I think NYSE and NQ is going to diverge from Nikkei today there are more self directed traders in the U.S. than anywhere I think and those that held through last year are realizing and seeing their equity drop is too painful, expect a retail sell off within the next few days. There's really not that much stock hype going no there right now. No reasons for retail to buy. Chinese and Japanese money might be flowing in providing liquidity but local retail is scared and Chinese and Japanese investors usually hold for a long time.

Just my 2 cents trying to justify a drop today, I'm counting on it via a long in EURUSD and a drop in stocks just adds fuel to that one.

BAM! Think you got it right. At least I wasn't eager to long long so early. Waiting a couple hours to see where they settle to range some.
