Especially when all the hard work you've done in one month is gone in three trade !!!

Can't agree more had to take a 800 pip loss 3 days ago but over came it reforming, learning and turning a negative into a positive.

Just some thoughts before weekend is here and get ready for a new trading week next week... So I kept telling and have been telling traders that he must have stop during trading; However, more than 90% the time, I was ignored. Below is an example I pulled from one of the LIVE fellow traders here (i have his system name removed of course). More than 30 days worth of consistent gain got eaten away due to no stop and poor trade management in the past two days or so. {image} I too have suffered large drawdown due to no stop protection in earlier trading...

i like to thank you Fxsaywhat too for the very true words.
i had a similar equity chart. and i wanna share too.

one must know what he's doing when he's trading with real money. or better don't trade.

which is more painful? realized loss or unrealized loss?

i'd say, both aren't not as painful as trading luck with real money.

I don't think there should ever be a gamble to decide on trade. I guess some what consider it a gamble but if done properly its a probability factor.

I agree. Closing bad trades is more important than closing good trades. Every entry needs an exit plan, where the trader is ready to give up on the trade and close with a loss for more potential profit in the future.
Everyone can see the chart, but only a few can actually read it.

having an annualized return of 100% isn't bad at all.. is that on a live account?

i wonder why the graph has an exponential decline..

good day,

Strong divergence on the daily. May have a positive day on Monday/Tuesday next week to snap back. Then possible to continue south...

Trade plan to long for a contra scalp. Then join shorts.

Regards

Endoephemera is celebrating his birthday week with a +50% and getting drunk.
You think he should get out of his small short currently at 1.3443 due to some silly increase at the bottom??

Guys help out Endoephemera.

Swissy is pointing lower. If correlation plays - EU up a little.

Have a splendid weekend

I have open already some longs at 1.3430 area. I was waiting to see this week closing below 1.3413, so because this timing not reached and a nice h1 candle with 1.3420 low prompts me to open some longs.

All the best to all and GL

OMG guys, only average in if you have planned for it, meaning your original first trade is much smaller than a standard trade as you plan to add to the trade if your wrong. Also max the number to like 3 trades, wrong 3 times you'll probably wrong in a lot of analysis and you will probably be wrong number 4 time no 5 time etc.. i do this when i have that feeling that im not that sure on my original entry, that allows me to get perspective on my trade. What i also do when i average in.. is to put hedge counter trades in like10-15 pips under my last entry with half the size of the last trade. I call it insurance. Often i find myself looking for a good spot to kill my hegde instead of just adding a new position to my loosing trade.
I NEVER add to a full trade, i kill it if wrong. In my early days a -60 $ loss fast became a -$200 position and suddenly, you're up watching you position 24 hours waiting for the turn as you're now -$1325 and used margin is at 77%. And besides all that, you have probably missed out on other better trades as youre glue to your loosing trade. Its at that point you wish you killed it at -60 or even -200. Cut your looser and get back to fi ding new trades.
I don't even have a cool signature

Gidday Nocool

Yeah good advise

I tend to hedge through the cross pairs

over 4+ charts.

Which allows more trades being active

I am with you man on this. I opened long (something rarely do on euro and I rarely trade euro) in the .3430 area

I can see the pair falling to .3400 but that's really it.

The risk/reward is solid on the long side. I will happily add at .3400 area

Any one expecting serious downside from these levels is either a noob or a gambler.
2 standard deviation move almost done. Last time we had 3 standard deviations was back in 2010
Euro zone not out of the woods but definetly not in the same predicament it was in back in 2010
