jmflukeiii, nice trade on 15 min chart. That divergence was great. I never seem to notice those things. Bad on me. New to the forum and noticed all the green and yellow numbers on the lower left of your chart. What's the indicator called and what do the numbers stand for?

No, if D1 @O/B or O/S i normally wait and not get in any trade. those pink lines i posted earlier just to show u that i made mistakes not paying attentions to D1 and just got in (against trend obviously) because I wanted to go short at the top and got stopped out twice.

Use the paperclip at the top of this thread and you will find everything you need to trade TMS. My setting is 30 days. I can't determine when I get out. Only price can tell me that. I do not have a stone to time entry and exit like someone has. Feel free to ask more questions and I will give my best in answering them. I won't bring out posts from thread owner as I assume you have read TMS and if you haven't, I would advise you to do it immediately. Otherwise you would not understand what others are talking about, cheers

I don't want more action; I want better consistency. I have not been able to prove that I can find that on the HTFs as of yet. I'd like to, so as to supplement my day trading, but have found that my original, proven belief that it is much simpler to anticipate the movement of the market over the next hour than the next day or two holds true.

I do appreciate your response though - I am trying (on demo) to figure out the HTF trades, and appreciate the input. AS for trend, however, I myself wouldn't classify this daily chart as trending anywhere:

Everyone has posted about how they won today. I will be the first to show my losses for today

GBP/USD - D1 Chart - Entered on 2nd candled I followed the rules of stoch and tdi following same downtrend. Entered on 2nd candle for short. Outcome- Lost.

1. Did you enter at the start of the second candle?

2. Where is your stop loss?

3. What time of day did you trade?

4. Try taking a screen shot at the time of the trade so it can be seen.

1. Yes Start of the candle.

2. My stop loss was 2% of my account which is 33pips (£2) account is £100

3. UK time as i am from uk 11.30/10.00

4. Them screenshots were from the time i put the trade in exactly then

I do not understand what I have done wrong :-S

Yes, but I would have taken partial profit before moving negatively. At one point it was +46 or so. I might have wrong chart here. I mean the GU short image.

Your stop loss should be at the last swing high or low. A stop of 33 pips is wayyyy too tight. Your risk level is appropriate however. Why are you not trading on demo?

Jag. In essence the TDI is a moving average crossover system, sometimes these crossovers work and sometimes not. However you can increase your chances. You went short against a prevailing uptrend. If you want to increase your chances of a successful trade then ignore TDI crosses that are against the prevailing trend and just take crosses that are with the trend. If you do that then immediately two things will happen, you'll increase your percentage chances of the trade working out and the number of pips you'll get with a trend-following trade will be more than you'll get with a counter-trend trade. Not saying you can't trade counter-trend, just saying a trend trade is better and likely to be more successful and profitable.

What you want to be doing is simple and as old as trading itself: buy the dips and sell the rallies in the prevailing trend. Here's what to look for: in an uptrend the candles will be predominately blue, then you'll get a pull-back caused by profit-takers. So you'll get maybe 4-6 red candles, then if the uptrend continues you'll see blue candles forming (and probably a TDI cross). Try and get in on the second blue candle. Two things can then happen: either the trend continues or it stalls and you get no continuation or follow-through. If that happens get out of the trade for probably a few pips loss. Vice-versa for a short trade. It's a percentage game, some you'll close out and others you'll let run. It's simple but not always easy, even experienced traders get losses all the time, just more winners than losers. Wait for the right set-up and just take the A++ trades. If you want to see some good examples of someone who trades like this then look at Stevepatt's posts on this thread, his charts are clear and uncluttered and his explanations simple and easy to follow. Good luck with your trading.

hi, everybody, does anyone know of an indicator which will alert me if TDI green is crossing red or bouncing off red for ALL timeframes of a pair, meaning if I attach the indicator to a chart it will monitor ALL timeframes (NOT just one) for that pair? Kindly guide me. THX

Thank you that makes so much sense!

In other terms we could say is buying pips "on sale" and selling when full price again. I would have better chances if i took the last forming candle or the first green candle after the set of reds and let the momentum of the trend carry my pips? If its a down trend and see a few green candles could take them but its best to wait for the red and let the main trend come back and get back in then, and vice versa.

When i place a trade i got 4-5 pips in minus already is that normal?

I have a alpari account which operates 8am-5pm or 6pm, what time does the H1, H4, D1, W1 candle come out for us in the UK?? 8am? Also what else is happening is sometimes i catch the candle forming i place a order but it takes the price of that closed candle.
