Most likely so with a retrace of 1970-1972 for the SPX500. If the SPX 500 breaks 1972 then a run to 2000 is very possible. If it wasn't for all this cash from QE I would bet that half or more of these retraces would never have taken place.

I dont know whether the rise at closing was profit taking nor on small volumes, and I dont know whether it will carry through to next week but I do think the decline on Friday was stalled. the Elliotticians might say there is unfinished business at a lower level than here in the form of a 5th wave down

Definitely unfinished business around 100DMA 9607 area, however Weekly chart looks to be forming a downward wedge, which usually means more upside. No clear signals of rejection on higher TFs either and the day ended with an almost hammer-like candle, another strong sign of possible upside risk.

SPX, I'm still waiting for a pullback into 1938, 1905 or 1965 to go long.

My first target is 9710.. there it will rest a little bit to get enough power for breaking the 9700 level I guess and then more south towards 9625..

Are you in the trade already or waiting for the opportunity (bearing in mind it shot up rather a lot this morning)?

I entered short at 9890.. will not close for a long period.. till I reach second target or so.. hitting first target will be proof for my second target..

Ok, earlier I thought my statement was obsolete but no.. price came back to 9854 and even higher.. will wait for an opportunity now to go short again with an additional trade. I let you know. (Next targets in that area are 9865 and later if it still pushes higher 9875)

Hmm.. if it goes that high I calculated a touch at 9920.. but for 9950 I am not so sure.. we will see soon anyway..

EDIT: If trend continues north my targets are: 9865... 9885.. and 9920..

Yep.. that short is for my daytrade.. I opened it intentionally and I will forget it there till price comes to much lower levels.. trend has already changed my friend.. it looks like it will go higher but nah not for me anymore..

It's certainly acting like a beast today, on the other hand 100pips is only a 1% swing

I thought it would lay down, but there are buyers every time it goes around 9820
