Thanks for the clarification!

Hi Sesamstraße,

may I ask you one thing about this entry:
Dont we have a "violation" of the 2-Bar-Rule here?
To me it looks like price needed 6 bars to get to the EMA 10, including two bars of hesitation/indecision.
Am I getting things wrong here?

You´re absolutely right!
No two bar rule here!
But a very steep angle of the Ema 10 + Weekly Pivot as a " support" , that´s why I entered .
.. to be honest .. it was one of my worst trades this year ..
Price was struggeling the next few hours .. up and down ..
I triggered my SL to BE after 8 pips profit and got stopped.

Hi mates,

yet I usually use the simulator to "train" to dance but today I managed to get in front of the real time chart
with my demo account short before NY open.
I took this GBPUSD trade, it was both a touch of m15 SMA35/EMA50 area and h1 EMA10, so I thought it should be
a suitable by-the-rules high probability entry.
The trade almost immediatley worked nice and when price reached +18 pips I moved my SL
to +14 (which is the lower boundarie of my daily target of 14-20 pips and equals a RR of 1:2) to ensure a "succesfull day"
while keeping me in the game and maybe get even more. Price hesitated around +16 pips and the took my stop out at +14.

For my learning: Do you guys agree it was a good entry ( in general, without regarding the positive outcome this time)?

Thanks in advance,
ihez

Hi all. I am back to game after few months off trading. I did move my house so needed some time off.
The idea is to practise on demo account for some time. 5k account, and 2 trading methods due to my work. I work on 4 on 4 off basis so there are days when I can trade and days when I cannot as I am at work.
so on my days off work I will trade normal choros - 15m chart with 1h and 4h to view at
on days at work I will be moving on bigger frames - 4h and 1d and trade price action according to http://www.learntotradethemarket.com/ with lower expectations, s/l and t/p depending on what I see on screen (s/l usually at least at 30 pips, but can be even 50 depending on size of candles etc), trades set up once a day in the evening.
Hope it will work - I spent too much time studying markets to give up now ;-)
On my way to financial independence - if others can do it - I can do it

To Kostas, good job for the trade.
But to me its rather a fear trade, because it broke the resistance and have a dead end candle without wick, which means continuation on the drop.
So how much SL you set for this one?
How about the entry in the pic? Is it a late entry? Do you still take the trade or not?

I would disagree about what the dead-end candle means. In my experience and according to the original Dance rules, when these candles dead-end exactly on an MA it is the perfect signal to enter. Most of the times when this happens, the trade runs in your direction quickly. I always take these when I see them, actually they have become rare in GU. My SL was below the H4 10, but if the trade had failed I would have stopped manually earlier.

Here is an interesting case from a trade I took today:

I consider this as a scoop-up from the confluence of M15 10/35/50 and H1 10. The real scoop-up from the M15 10 was 7 bars earlier, but in this case I knew it was going to retrace to that confluence. With more patience somebody could wait for the conflunce of WP, DR1 for target but I am happy with 20p

Lucky you ...
For my taste it´s not what I´m looking for !
The angles of the MA´s are not steep enough ( not really flat .. but not good enough to enter ) IMO
.. but green pips .. are much better than red

PS:
Right now the cable chart brakes down .. with a long candle ( or just a spike ??? ) we will see in 30 min - 1 hour ..
....after long candles the MAs getting steep .... that´s my sign to watch the market for a touch .....
