i haven't see any bullish signals right now,
at least long orders would not be taken into my consider.
i would not be surprised to see if it fell to 100.00,to complete the e-wave.
no other killers to me but emotion

Slow moving low volatility uptrend, -ve divergence doesn't cause much of a correction
You gotta get in quick to buy the dips...

All off the back of ECB change in policy. 2 more LTROs longer term, to mature in 2018, they're preparing QE. This is great news for equities. In view of fundies, no shorting euro equities for the forseeable future

Thanks for the explanation, I'm trying to trade DAX and what I cannot understand is why DAX reacts for US Dollar news, like today NFP for example ?

spx level 1900 will be visited again later, and possibly drop more. Sell it next Wednesday. Monday and Tuesday are usually up days.

Can you please explain what do you mean by missed ? I mean what is your entry criteria ?

the purple line on the chart is monthly pivot. If the monthly pivot is missed by the price (price did not touch the pivot in that month), that level will be visited some time later by the price. The farther the price moves away from the monthly pivot, the more profitable to target the pivot.

I will try shorting SPX today. NFP number was decent, US economy is stabilising so I choose to interpret this as bad news for QE-fuelled SPX rally.

Let's see what US session brings us.

If there is a drop, first target is around 1940, second target 1926 (cash market).

Hi geomoon, generally everyone is looking at what US equity markets are doing - it's the biggest market in the world and whatever happens there usually has a knock-on effect on the rest of the world.

So unless there is a strong reason for EU equities to behave differently (such as a particularly strong earnings report from one of the companies in the index), EU equities will be dragged by major US equities events, such as NFP. So intraday you may see assets like DAX, Eurostoxx, FTSE etc, drifting their own way during London session but as soon as Wall St opens, the US volume simply overrides EU, and US runs the show in the afternoon.

DAX will likely generally keep going higher, due to european QE implications. Last time a country introduced aggressive QE was the Fed in the US back in 2009, sparking an incredible SPX rally that saw it climb from around $750 to todays $1955.

I agree DAX gonna go down, in 10min chart it breached my 200 SMA, then went up, but the structure itself looks not very sustainable. I'm tended to short with open TP, but generally hoping 9960 area.

Hi Everyone, Nice thread, just started watching DAX.

I have a few short entries with average 10009. One thing that concerns me is that my broker says that every month on 19th the contract expires and I have to book in the loss or profit on that day if I have not closed the trade before then. In that case, it is very difficult to hold the position over a long period, is it only my broker or it is generally the case with trading DAX (GER30).

I think it is over-stretched at the minute, but with Euro down, we still have some potential for some upside. Any suggestions ?
