Lot of guys misunderstand my comment.
I use both Charts and news and fundamentals as everyone should.I use fibs, Bollinger Bands ,RSI, TL all tech tools but I also firmly understand that
impact news can change whatever tools used as predicting factor.
That's what I meant X factor. X standing simply the unknown variable=Market

Imo anyone relying solely on typical techs, or solely on fundies, is an idiot. With most people losing money in this business you gotta figure out what the extra edge needed is.

For me, it's combining tech and fundies with a view to analysing how smarter money would profit from each move, how weak hands would be hurt by it, the psychology of fear/greed, watching order flow (as much as you can via charts and chatter), look at the context for where moves happen, lines meet up, market chatter changes, data comes in ..
