It is the psychology of trading. When you make good pips, you will say good reasonable things but when the day is bad we all see some craps around.

I disagree.I posted the article describing how much it hurts France along with the rest except maybe Germany.
It is not overrated.Lot of things are intertwined on currency levels
In trading, you have to be defensive and aggressive at the same time

A lot can be done with a lower currency. It is not the rate only by it self but change of rate lowers the currency.
10% down 10% more competive. We see it even in Norway a country with no debt at all and worlds biggest pension fund. The goverment is doing everything to to weaken the currency to be more competive. The NOK has weaken aginst the euro from 7,4 to 8,3 last year and we se the results in positive ways.
Europe is full of dept but there is no reason why the NOK should weaken 10% agains the eurosone who is really struggeling.

If Europe does nothing it is dead against the new BRIC countries. WE dont se a war any more but more of a currency war that changes the value from some countries to another. Japan had to do something, UK did it, USA did it and Europe must do it. It is now way we can compete

It's hard to compete against Yellen and her theoretical open book also.
She is sending quite a clear message to the market that accommodation is around for a while and interesting to see even the Fed acknowledge the structural flaws in the workforce.
A change from Bens eternally optimistic outlook.
I am curious though, with Euro +ve trade balance and US trade deficit, who needs a weaker currency the most, ie. who has the most wriggle room to keep things reasonable on that front?

Norway has a good , competitive Economy .It cannot be compared to EU IMO .What is EU exporting ? Mercedes and Renault ?And what is importing ? All the rst of goods ?I believe damage was done ages ago when China started poluting Europe and rest of the world with cheap stuff .......I'd rather trust charts then fundamentals and politics as I do not understand the latter that well , and charts ugest EUR will reach above 1.40 some time this year ......Draghi should have acted time ago , now might be too late , no ?

Never underestimate Jannet Yellen . I remember probably 10 or 12 years ago , she was workig under Bernanke or Greenspan , gave a speech and market a turnaround for EUR/USD !They were far more volatile times but still ......

The Euro (1.3913) is going under a little rectification in the wake of breaking over 1.3900 and hitting 1.3951 in this way. Keep an eye if ECB takes some venture close to 1.4000-50 yet a tear over 1.4050 might open the route to enormous upside targets.

think this latest print from germany is horrible. still the euro doesn't fall means markets positioned for draghi and will not move till they hear draghi. draghi actually may talk based on the data till last friday and except for the inflation print all data was good.

We shall see, Marianne...we shall see. In my view the problem is his mandate. He doesn't have much power to decide on matters such as unemployment but he has a crucial role on price stability. As a result, a prolonged low inflation should be a call for action. He once said that the low inflation depended on temporary factors not of his concern. Recently he slightly changed his stance.

Quite frustrating to see all pointers bullish, and yet the damn correction isn't over yet. Today Carney, Bernanke and Yellen should really mess thing up and get us out of this:
