In the past week ive seen two these low volatility/range bound markets articles in the FT, now heres a good one from bloomberg.

this week is the anniversary of the flash crash. I've been around long enough to know volatility comes and goes. It will come back and people will wish for the non-volatile times

crazy thing is in your instance 2008 it wasn't volatile, it was pure vertical drops, bears feasted and bulls were destroyed over and over, volatility is when ping pong battle time albeit on larger time frames pa barely moves, more like spasmodic twitching, so volatility in its correct context is not wanted but essential before bigger moves so the real question is "do you want to trades when market is undecided (volatile) or wait until the actually move is decided, scalpers trade one everyone else trades the other, scalpers enjoy volatility range trading, others accept it is a required process and wait patiently for direction, both can succeed, both can fail, "everyone fails who tries to do both with the same market"

todays data is aussie yuan, asian session is normally yen kiwi and aussie, interested if anyone actually watching these currency prs,

if we get a reject on the micro atm at 3877ish, then maybe bulls have a chance at 3847 for a intraday move to bust north. still holding my shorts until dragis loses the put.

The issue is not being sure at the time of getting involved in a trade .................. things become unclear after one has entered a trade.

What # do u have for draghis put? I thought it was 3885, but you would've been stopped out already?

yes geppy from todays open has fallen nicely, wouldnt count out usd yet eu 3884 is still in play, aussie kiwi looking to roll also, it is a nice day so far

Believe me, nothing is predictable in this market, no matter if your are looking at it 1) in short or long term, 2) from technical or fundamental point, 3) as a trader or gambler, 4) with a probablistic or any other approach, etc. etc.

You are worth something, If you have a system that is not dependent on where market goes, how fast or slow it moves, how choppy pa is, when it starts moving and when it stops, when it ranges or shows a break-out (real or fake), etc. etc.

If there or can be such a system? Yes, many. All one needs is to first acknowledge that this is a very shitting place. Once you accept that, method will automatically follow.

using my friday entry before at 2897. i closed 20% of this trade long ago. so my trade is green even at 2897. each days interest is whats going to turn it red soon. i have another at 2870... its stop is the same.

I see.. A 27 pip stop is quite large by your standards. I had an entry at 3872 last week but was stopped out at 3887 above the "draghi put". Will try again with a slightly higher stop.

i made about 60+ pips on 2 scalps and used 27 of them for my stop risk
