“If we assume that China’s reserves accumulation in the first instance is 90% dollar and they want no more than 50% of dollar in reserves, then just over $400 billion would have been accumulated since September,” Citigroup explained.
Citi suggests that Chinese authorities would have had to sell $180 billion between September and March, or $1.15 billion a day, leaving a meaningful dent in the buck.


Given that the USDCNY band is now at 2%, and the overall mechanics of how China aquires reserveres... the rate of growth of their reserves is peaking right now. The intervention kind of creates a blow off top as a huge amount is aquired during the intervention and once that ceases this flows affect on the market is essentially over... and this has been a significant effect on the market since 2003 probably.

At the same time the ECB may ease...

At the same time the fed may hike.


If your playing the trend this could be near parity in two years. Keep the trend in mind.

you max out the loans and get the excess in a refund check. On my campus the term for this was #RefundRich haha. Straight to the mall with the loan money.

Japan's QE isnt FX intervention so it doesnt create reserves in other currencies. They just print money to buy Japanese bonds. China prints money to buy other countries currencies.

thats why I said here few weeks back that I do not believe fx should be used for a month by month personal atm but as a building wealth in a longer time period.
