china trade balance, blah blah, well, why then no reaction and follow through in Gold for instance? because XAU got into strong demand zone, which is supported by the TL and also 50% fib of a big previous swing. why is UCAD still going down then if commods are screwed ?{image}

Dairy prices fell 8.9 percent at today’s auction to $4,124 a tonne on a trade-weighted basis, which is the fourth consecutive drop and the lowest price since August 2012. The decrease spoils New Zealand’s 40-year high terms of trade, which is seen as a major driver behind the country’s accelerating economic growth, and if the dairy sector slows down the RBZN may raise rates more slowly.Last month, the Reserve Bank hiked the Official Cash Rate by 25 basis points to 2.75 percent and became the first developed world central bank to lift rates since 2011. So far this year, the kiwi has been one of the best-performing currencies, and has risen about five percent against the greenback.
“We expect four rate hikes this year - one is April, but now we've got some questions around July if the Fonterra prices continue to weaken,” said Tim Kelleher, head of institutional FX sales NZ at ASB Institutional in Auckland.
On Monday, the International Monetary Fund said the New Zealand dollar is overvalued by 5 to 15 percent, a range that reflects the uncertainty about the kiwi’s pricing. “Reducing pressure on the exchange rate and limiting the current account deficit in a lasting way will require structural measures to address the savings-investment gap, rather than being the task of short-term macro-economic management,” advised the fund.
