Every thing can be solve ur build625 and build 610 became 509 . But there is a webinstall folder again and again creite if i down lode i new demo of any company. That will effect all open mt4 at that time. I crete metaquiter folder read write modify every dynie but this folder create webinstall folder in it in appdata. I have no solution how i protect my computer from this virus folder web install crete by mt4

This is just part of an email I received from the developers of the Kangaroo EA that I have (though I'm not currently using). The rest of the email gives instructions of how to revert from 600 to 509 while they look for answers.

"The issues arise from new quirks MetaQuotes has introduced in the newest build(s). The array functions have been drastically altered. Kangaroo uses a plethora of complex linear regression analyses (including the residual error function calculations) and this has become scrambled with the changes. To use an analogy, the MT4 update is like everyone’s addresses in a city being changed. The post office would have a nightmare delivering mail."

Funny how everyone passes this update off like it's nothing. I have another older EA that was profitable and was using and the update scrambled the code but unfortunately support no longer exists to fix. I wonder how many people have lost money and how much it would total in purchase prices because of this update. It seems to me that the cycle begins all over again so that it will happen again in the next 4-5 years or less. This update is about printing money not about trading it.

I just posted this on the yahoo MT4 E & I group.
I just tried to compile an EA from a client and it would not compile on build 509 because the compiler is looking at the new MT4 folder from build 610. I have both builds on the same machine, common for developers, and apparently the way MT4 changed the registry caused the old build to lose its registry settings. I had to copy an include file into the expert to allow it to compile.

At this point I am seroiusly considering moving on and dropping MT4 completely.
I have spent the last 9 years developing code for MT4 and now find my old build is no longer viable without extra hassles.
Who knows what new compiler bugs will appear. I do not know who made these decisions at MetaQuotes as it was VERY unprofessional to ignore the people who helped make your product successful.
I now refuse to be a beta tester for MetaQuotes unless I am paid by them to do it.

BTW, has anyone developed an app to convert my old data to the new build?
Just in case I stay a little longer.

I had similar problems as I use polynomial regression analysis, which includes linear.
I have fixed all of the problems cause by arrays.

When you say support no longer exixts for the old EA do you mean you do not have the source code?
I have now "fixed" over 100 EAs due to the new build and some only needed a space added to allow errors to go away.
I do now know if that bug was fixed and no loner really care as I am done being a betatester for MT4/5.
I will fix problems when I can but will no longer report to MetaQuotes what I have found and fixed on my own.

A serious programmer should have start to convert his source code before the official release date using beta MT4 platform (like I did), in order to be ready with new software for the official release date.
I can understand people who write about bugs in the new modified language (I've not found any), but I cannot understand who has still problems with the new language.

Hi. I'm still newb as far as far as mql is concerned. I only have the .ex4 not the .mq4 file if that's what you mean by the source code. I can't open the file to see the workings, it's a retail EA (always wondered how).

The EA not working is only half the problem that the build 600 presented. The other half is that it overwrote the Experts/presets folder with a new folder upon the 509-600 update making me lose 6 months of work -presets (partially my fault for not making backup...). Even if I could get the EA working again it is just too much work to get it up and running again, I am just going to bin it instead.

The whole scenario of metatrader seems like a familiar story to me. A bit like a good first movie that follows up with 10 sequels. With each passing movie they spend a little less in the making and the story line becomes a little more bizarre and "out there". The 'Market' tab is just the beginning imo.

My own source code is not an issue for the most part.
It is re-coding for clients using custom indicators that is the problem for the most part.
And the change in folder structure broke all of my install programs.
Even knowing ahead of time does not help that much because many clients are still using the old build.

The "official" release date was sprung upon many MT4 programmers.
I also know that Avery Horton used . as part of variable names so he has some changes to do if anything needs modifying.

It is not the new language, it is the change in folder structure and registry that is causing problems.

Another issue I just discovered is that my old build is no longer working correctly during compile.
It is now looking for include files in the wrong place.
The MetaEditor is exhibiting the same problem and I must use Save As to save to the old build.
Also #include is now broken in the old build 509 because it is looking for include files under MT4/Include instead of MT4/Experts/Include.

This is on a newer development system with only 3 MT4s installed, two from FXDD.
My older development system has over 30 versions installed because I code under the version used by the client.

If you have found no bugs then you must not code much.

One thing to try is to take the source code file from an older build and copy to the new build folder.
When I did that with over 30 files I found many that did not compile becuase of undeclared variables.
These all compiled under build 509 with no errors.
I double checked the code and the variables were clearly declared as extern.
And yes, I know about changing that to input.

I added a space, saved the file, recompiled and NO ERRORS???
So much for backward compatable.

Have you tried using restor with Windows? See if you can restore before the new build was done.

lol, that's a separate issue all in itself. I have a brand new system. I bought the computer January and since have been downloading programs and updates upon updates it would be a major project to go back and start again. I have a few restore points but it gives me a headache just thinking about it. I suppose if it meant everything I could try it but I'm just going to write this off as a bad experience.

There are a lot of scripts around that. If you have the source code you can post here and I will take a look
Or explain what you need and I will check if I already have one or two.

I have at least 4 custom ones that calculate lots based on percent of account and stoploss, set stoploss and takeprofit with different methods and extensive error checking. Mine seem to still work but have not tested on build 625. They were compiled on build 509 and still work on build 610. I have managed to prevent live update on all my systems.
I guess one will get updated now.

Did a quick look at the code under the old build and it appears the string handling is probably the problem.
Will check more on the new build later.

That is just a warning. OrderSend is a function that returns a value. Add int temp = OrderSend... and the warning will go away.

OK errors fixed but this give me the reason it won't initialize not sure what it is. I understand some stuff but this is over my head thanks.

Got it. Some how my automated trading got turned off had to reset the check boxes. Thanks again for the help.
