Lots of action through the night and good member posting.

Update to my three positions:

AUDJPY: moved target to 95.57 (high from Oct 2013); moved S/L to 93.75; if stopped out profit will be +203 pips; trailing PAC with S/L; way overbought now.
Attached Image

CADJPY: moved target to 92.34 (50% Fib retracement level from previous sell); moved S/L to 91.50; if stopped out profit will be +50 pips; trailing PAC with S/L; overbought as well.
Attached Image

USDCAD: moved target to 1.1084; moved S/L to 1.1181; if stopped out profit will be +65 pips; trailing PAC as well; oversold.

If the market violently goes against these positions, I will still bank 318 pips...I don't think that's to bad for about a weeks worth of trading.

I try to avoid predicting the market (usually wrong!) but with runs like these I would expect profit taking as the trading week winds down and we might expect TDI crosses from these pairs that are in 68/32 territory.

I've been reading a few posts with the word "patience" in them. I would just remind all that if you're trading an H4 chart, your S/Ls should start out in the 50-70 pip range and targets likely twice that for a R/R of 1/2.0. H4 trades take time to play out...they're not in and out positions. (See post 33,729) My current trades have been open for 9, 6, and 5 days respectively. Patience was my biggest enemy back in 2006 when I first began trading the FOREX market. I didn't like waiting 5-10 days at the drive-up window for my order!

Be reminded that if you're taking set-ups with a R/R of 1/2.0, you could lose 1/2 of your trades and still make money. We're doing better than 50% because we have good filters, a good plan and hopefully good discipline to stick to it.

Enjoying all your inputs....

Good luck!

Dano,

At first glance it looks like PA may be honoring the 61.8% Fib level of the 18 March Buy move. I like the R/R on the trade...will be interesting to see if it can break the downtrend line. Here are my suggestions for parameters:

I am new to this thread I cant seem to find where and how the template changed and what I am to see from the changes. The 5 MA is now a h/l channel and there is a yellow line in the TDI. Can someone direct me to the post(s) that address these changes and how it is useful to me. Many Thanks! Scott

Yes I saw it on the 4pm candle as London closed. Looked like probably a stop run but I hope I'm wrong.

Not until that candle you got in closes. You sort of jumped the gun there. I hope it pays a brinks truck for you.

EU Qualifies for: POS Of The Day Award!

Look at it! EJ & EU both shot out a short signal at 4am: You short at the open of the 8AM bar.

EJ trade tanks over 60 pips in profit right now. While The POS EU is in the Minus right now.

Thanks Emmanuel, very wise words. I appreciate your time to reply to me. It is hard to know if something you are doing is wrong due to your own understanding or that it is wrong due to something happening [that was meant to happen in the chart], when you are on your own.

Dear Zoopots,

I entered SHORT in AudJpy @ 94.408 which is positively going on but after reading your targeted TP price 95.57, i am getting confused. Being a senior, please advice me, what should i do? Should i close and earn whatever is coming or should i wait?

Without your screenshot it's hard to analyze your entry. You have to realize I've been in the AUDJPY for 9 days and am simply managing my position. I'm trailing the PAC every 4 hours with the attitude that if the pair keeps giving, I'll gladly keep taking. The current buy has progressed 300 pips which is insane, so I am expecting profit taking (sells) in the near future. Translated...an overbought TDI cross to a sell. If you had that on your chart with supporting logic, might have been a good entry. There is tons of resistance north at 94.60 and 95.60

My broker (FXDD) will give a sell TDI cross at the close of the current candle in 90 minutes. I will likely not take it and stay in my buy until PA closes below the PAC. There will be time to switch horses later, I'm sure.

Since you're short @ 94.41 I would assume your stop is above today's high @ 94.68...around 30 pips. That's great for an H4 trade. An initial target to consider is the 38.2% Fib retracement of the current move around 93.33...just over 100 pips. Risk 30 to anticipate +100....hmmm...I like those odds. Time will tell. I will not tell you what to do but being a newbie (which we all were at one point) you have to decide what you're strategy is AND STICK WITH IT. If you lose this trade, analyze it well and look for the next one.

Deputy Lowe of the RBA is done speaking for the week so we might see some consolidation.

Hope this helps some.

Zoo,

If I am right, according to your rules, you would enter G/A, and A/J, and (if they finally cross) A/U, and E/A along with E/N. With four of these crosses being AUD, would you still enter all of them, or would you select only one of them?

Crosses below the 32 line: G/A
Possibly upcoming below the 32: E/A (getting close), E/N (should cross spot on?)

Or have I missed something of your rules? I am NOT a conservative trader, trying to rein myself into BECOMING a much more conservative trader. Your method of taking a few choice trades intrigues me.

I have just come back to this thread after awhile away, due to problems with loading the indicators and then the learning curve taking a steep incline. I went back to looking at PA and Chris Capre/ Nial Fuller stuff but that was equally as frustrating and mind boggling as when I put these signals to test they work perfectly with open charts showing future movements! However when I think I'm getting my head around it and apply some of the principles to a chart where I can't see the future...I get stung...in fact it is so frustrating I feel as if...

MartC,

Let me echo Emmanuel's comments at 33,902. I got in FOREX trading in 2006 with a $3000 purchase hyped up at a local Red Lion presentation. Several systems, meetings, webinars and conferences later I realized the problem was me...not the market. It clicked when my wife said "Why do you keep switching systems"...and I had no answer that in reality was an excuse for my short comings as a trader. I eventually decided 1. How I wanted to trade, 2. When I wanted to trade and 3. Why I wanted to trade. Then I forced myself (and it was painful, very painful) to demo trade my current H4 strategy FOR TWO SOLID YEARS! Every invite to a webinar, email, forum suggestion to look at something else I flushed...because I had to get my discipline squared away. Guess what, it proved you'll lose, it proved the concept was sound and it proved I could do it. I had to fix me before I fixed any chart or strategy. When I look at the trade log of those two years it makes me smile because I realize my failures were in my head, not my heart.

I could go on, but will stop here. You're wise to seek counsel from some of the gray hairs...sorta like life in general, huh? LOL
