Hi Wigglesworth, thanks for the reply.

Indeed, I had my filter on on the news page and NZD was excluded, my bad...

ITO the spring forward, I am not entirely sure what you mean, sorry...Would this mean that I am seeing the correct time for news at all times and that I can trade the events with confidence??

Yeah, I have been looking at the NZD news on FF since last week. As far as timing goes, everyone is in a different time zone. Sometimes using UTC or GMT helps clear it up but then you have to figure out how that relates to your local time. It's a pain in the ass but it's worth the education.

The smart thing to do would be to look at more than one news source and see if they match. Also look back at the previous news releases and see what time they came out. Be a detective. lol

i use FF in conjection with FPA for calender although FPA tends to be more thorough, FF does add very helpful captions and descriptions to each news which is very helpful

HJ Its really confusing because I just noticed that South Africa (where I believe you live) has no DST in 2014...Where I live, there is never any DST, so from my perspective, the FF news times moves an hour ahead in the fall and an hour behind in the spring ... FF I believe is based in eastern time zone or GMT-5..
Therefore I would say with 80% accuracy that the FF newstimes that you saw last week are now an hour earlier for you...Please don't kill me if you miss a trade and confirm with your due diligence...

regardless of the direction, you see it was a good potential news to trade right? I went in with a 5-6 pip SL and a tp of 30

If you are confused about the time a news event is coming out , you can check Alpari News Calendar, it has a "Time Left " before news column, that can be a good reference for when the news is coming out .

Yep, just like with the ladies. Also, if you had been following the trend for the hours leading up to the news you could have actually moved your stop to break even or at least trailed enough to reduce risk.
