currently short usdcad at 1.11568, first tp at 1.11092, and second tp 1.10615, stop loss at 1.12045.

trade based on h4/h1 supply zone, and bearish divergence.

any thoughts?

Shorting USDCAD is always very risky especially considering that tomorrow Canadian GDP data will be released and expectations are for a drop. Overall trend is very bullish despite recent rejection at 1.12. Better to wait. GDP data can be a big game changer.

Thanks Greener, I am already short from the levels stated above, my targets are quite modest 1st at 1/1 R:R, and 2nd target 1/2 R:R...but I will keep an eye on it as I do agree with you on the bullish nature of price movement currently.

Don't ever short this pair. There's no limit to how high this sucker can go up but it rarely drops below parity.

though i don't approve UC can rise to 1.15 high,it is not a good time to sell this pair at the moment

should see some good volatility with the CAD GDP, be surprised if it is positive news.

moved my sl to BE plus some, currently at +37 so it's a free trade. moved my tp's down as well, so will see what happens when gdp is released.

EDIT: closed first position manually.

Added to longs as well between 1.1060 and 1.1080. This is only slightly predictable currency at the moment hehe.

On an annualized basis, however, Canadian GDP expanded at a 2.9% pace in the fourth quarter, its biggest annualized gain in over two years.
Economists were expecting December GDP to decline by 0.3% in the month, while moving at a 2.6% pace on an annualized quarterly basis.

If Canadian GDP came in at -0.5% month over month, below the -0.3% expectations. How doesthe same print then exceed the expectations of 2.6% YoY with a 2.9% actual print.

How does a number that missed badly on a monthly basis, thoroughly beat annualized expectations?

no need to over-analyze things, markets does what it does. Another reason, that I don't even read the news, only market sentiment.
