here is my chart explaining what I meant by my post above.

Always pay attention to strong price rallies and the TDI goes outside the Volatility Band VB, then when the TDI PL re-enters the VB, there is tendency for divergence to occur due to the lagging TDI indicator. This phenomenon happens often in H4 and give very good trades.

I have two open positions protected at BE and held over this weekend.

Hello everyone,

This is my first post here...mainly due to being so new to trading I was reluctant to say anything due to my level. However, I bought a new laptop to try to get into this method [which in itself is my first go at trading full stop]. I was using my PC and MT4 platform from fxpro.com. I downloaded both the Synergy_APB.ex4 and TDI Red Green, and a friend advised me to put them in the virtual store folder. Everything was running smooth...was working my way tentatively through this great thread, learning as I went...looking at S/R and Price Action etc...trying to absorb the Q&A going on.

However, everything was fine for my setup of the indicators...then bought a laptop...downloaded the MT4 for that on Wednesday...but the same process didn't work for placement of the indicators. Then I had an update to my PC MT4 aswell when I went to look at that for guidance...and after the update I had NONE of the indicators...and worse couldn't get them back into MT4.

I am using Windows 7...and have read through a lot of the thread and the MT4 new build thread...but am very limited by my learning curve, and am now tying myself in knots.

So to cut a long story short...I've tried a bunch of stuff...none of it worked. So...

 

  1. have the indicators been updated? if so are there new ones?
  2. Why doesn't the virtualstore folder work anymore?
  3. and more importantly where do I now put the indicators so they show up?


Sorry if this is already been addressed...I have tried since Wednesday looking through the thread to find a solution, but nothing is working so I'm clearly doing something wrong somewhere, I spoke with emmanuel7788 who told me to post my problem up...so we could address it with others who may be experiencing the same.

Anyways...fantastic thread, and fantastic people on here...and look forward to getting back to my indicators

Hi Guys/Girls...can anyone tell me how to fix my Mt4 platform, I was doing fine with build 590, but then last evening my computer was shutdown and it upgraded to build 600, now nothing works, all I get is MT4 not responding ???

Hey mate,

I had a similar problem last weekend. The only way it got fixed was after I called my broker and got them to play around with a few things. My username and password were correct but it wouldn't log me in. My broker could log into my account on his end just not on mine. There must be a bug in the new build that messes around with account access. I wish I could tell you what the fix is but there wasn't an obvious answer. The funny thing is that I run mt4 on an old laptop and that worked out but my PC wouldn't log in.

All I can say is call your broker when they open. I hope they can sort your problem out.

how many instances do you have MT4 installed in your computer?

In this instance where you have this 'not responding' error message, do you remember the last profile you used?

go to the MT4 installed folder, look under the sub-folder Profiles and see how many profiles you have there.

most often 'not t responding' errors are caused by a particular chart with indicators which uses iCustom and fails to find that iCustom routine failed and this can be due to the new Build 600 compiling your old mq4 codes and had a compilation error.

if you know the last profile that was in used before this crash, go to tthat profile and delete all the open charts in there. They are filenames chart01, chart02, etc.

when you restart MT4 again, you will then see that last profile but no more charts on your screen. You can then open new chart and start create a new template all over again.

Edit: you can see which was the lastprofile used by looking under the column "Date Modified' and look for the lastest date and time there. That should be the last profile opened by your platform.

Please share with us some of your 4 hours trades on charts and also explain how many of the H4 setups with TDI cross and APB#1 and #2 changed colour entries failed. How do you manage those failed trades and losses.

Also, which broker do you use and what is the server time. I want to know becasue different server time do have different H4 candles.

Do you trade exactky like our OP eelfranz did, he checks every 4 hour at 10pm, 2am, 4am PST and only the first 3 hours of the NYO session.

I have noticed that your TDI dosent show Bollinger Bands anymore, so have you remove it off your chart and just trade TDI without bands?

I see you pic.

I don't see any MQL4 folder in your MT4 root folder...

and you copied the SHI indy to the wrong place.

Just copy the SHi ______ .ex4 into the expert\indicators\ ... folder.

Do not copy the SHi ___.mq4 or else you stand the risk in getting build compilation error. Just copy old indies with ___.ex4 type will do. These shoudl work.


Next best thing to do is to open a TradeStation account instead of MT4 account.... long term trading without MT4.

Dear Phx62,

Pls advise me about your first trade,After you entered the trade price was gone your side more than 21 pip & then rivers.
Why you did not close that trade as BE trade.

Helanka:

This is how I study his trades and I try to learn his entry style looking at M15.
From what I saw, that entry was after the 2nd M15 candle of that H1 setup candle.
That is when price broke the low of the previous H1 Low and the TDI is consistent with and confirming the Price Action.

TheScorpS,I have never used the Bolinger Bands on the TDI indicator.

Thanks for your reply.When I study Phx62 PDF he told many times when his trade went more than 21 pip on positive side he amend SL as BE.
In this entry he has not done it.

But I use M15 with the PAC and that entry was good and market did not threaten that entry.

Pls note that I usually Find SL(2% of my account) by using your Scripts & according to that decide my lot size.

Pls see below image & advise your plan about H4 trade.

* When you enter a H4 trade & that trade not gone to your side until that h4 candle close.What will you do next?
* When you enter a H4 trade & that trade gone to your side but not hit your 1st target & then rivers.what will you do?
* When you enter a H4 trade & that trade not gone your side from the beginning & then rivers,But still not hit your SL. what will you do?

Pls tell me about your plan.

You are in the wrong folder, you are still looking at the old folders, your address bar at the top shows that. Once you've done as Emmanuel said to do and delete your profile charts, open your mt4 and then go to File -> Open Data Folder, that is the way to get to the new folder, then go to mql4 -> indicators (not experts/indicators) and put your indicators in there - only the ex4 files.

you chart shows the market made a strong down move and so what was that H4 entry based one? reversal or trading consoldation market type, right?
so you want the market to reverse after that strong down move,... seldom happen this way.

After a strong trending move, we always expect a correction and/or consolidation before the next big move again.

If we had expected a reversal from that setup, then by the next market session ... London session, it should move again and when that do not happen, we need to manage the risk of our trade. We can cut the initial risk R to 0.5R and stay in to fight another session.

risk and money management - do not enter at full risk 2% when the reversal is not confirm.
can always half the risk, say use 1% and then build another 1% after we see a new trend develop and there is breakout higher.

hint: when price action remains within its PAC for too many sessions, take a look in the next higher TF and decide to get out of that trade or reduce the initial risk.
