If I could ask a question.

I have started reprogramming my "509" indicators into "600+" indicators.

The vast majority were easily fixed.

For the couple that dont, one had object drawing in it, the other "high"/"open"/"close" formula, both of which I understand are areas where language changes have impacted.

Do I start looking at MT5 indicators for ideas, as virtually the entire database of MT4 indicators have been rendered obsolete overnight ??

I would appreciate any ideas.

I am a fallible imperfect person; so I must be a fallible imperfect trader.

I been trading for 22 years and I have gotten 2 know lots of people. Build 600 was a world Wide Mess, Maybe Crystal was before Hayseed. in the Pyle. I will be driving down some time next week 2 have lunch with some of the people at IBFX and will get 2 the bottom of what I need. Out of interest does your buddy at Metastock have a view regarding the long term MT4 future? I heard that at some point, like most software companies, they will discontinue support and "oblige" us to migrate to MT5. Then its a different ball game...

As a result of the recent Update Build 600 kerfuffle by Metaquotes which has
stopped many people from trading which in turn shall have a negative impact
on Brokerages, this is what I have choosen to do, how I have choosen to now
trade which I hope helps people.

I am giving up my dependence upon all Indicators, and EAs with the exception
of Trend Lines preinstalled, and always works on the MT4 Trading Platform.
From my interpetation, when properly installed Trend Lines accurately, and
consistently show the correct Support, and resistance ( Buy / Sell Take Profit )
Levels which is what I need to be successful at my trading approach.

Considering the situation, this is how I suggest everybody trades, as
this is how I shall trade from now on without changing anything.

In order to be successful trading Currencies or Commodities, a Trader
needs to be trading on the same side of the Banks, when the Banks trade,
and take profit at the levels that Bank's do.

Based upon all I've read, and seen over the years this is what I think
is taking place week after week.

Banks only place, and process their, and their Customer's Currency,
Commodity orders once a week, starting Sunday at 6:00 PM EST.
When they do they also set the how high, and low the
prices shall move for the week.

When those price targets are reached. Activity during the following
days during that week is generated by Retail Traders both Demo,
and Live Account Holders including those working on the floor of
Stock Exchanges.

The Brokers to use are those that allow hedging, are STP Straight
Through Processing, NDD Non Dealing Desk, ECN Electronic Communication
Network or a combination of those Brokers, as they do not interfere
with Trader's trades or trading approaches.

Search the Internet for Forex Brokers. At each site that has Forex Brokers
as being searchable. Search for STP Straight Through Processing, NDD
No Dealing Desk, ECN Electronic Communications Brokers or a
combination of those as they do not interfere with Trader's trades,
and do not rip Traders off. Also search for Hedging allowed, fixed spread,
leverage is at the Trader's choosing, I use 1:500.

Set up the trading Platform, MT4, MT5, Web Based whatever
people choose to use with whatever Currency Pairs or Commodities
people choose to trade.

As mentioned to determine the correct Take Profit Levels I am now
only using Trend Lines which from what I have read when properly
installed are used to accurately, consistently show the correct
Take Profit Levels.

To correctly install Trend Lines for Resistance ( Buy Take Profit )
Levels, the beginning of the Trend Line is placed on the top of
the Highest Candle ( the wick / skinny part ) or on top of the
Highest Bar, and the remaining line is drawn to touch the tops of the
remaining Candles / Bars moving towards the right on the Chart
on the Trading Platform until the Trend Line reaches the white line
on the right hand side of the chart. Where those two meet is where
the Resistance / Take Profit Level appears, and can be known when
the cursor is placed on the area where those two lines meet. A little
window shall appear, and the Resistance / Take Profit Level under
the word Trendline.

The same approach is applied to the Support ( Sell Take Profit )
except the trend Lines is placed underneath the Candles / Bars.

When the High, Low Prices that appeared on the bottom of the
Trading Platform have not reached the Trend Line Levels, because I am using
a Brokerage that allows Hedging, I simultaneously place a Buy Trade
with Sell Trade.

When the Trading Platform High Price has reached the Trend Line Resistance
Level, I only place a Sell Trade, and when the Trading Platform Low Price
has reached the Trend Line Support level, I only place a Sell Trade.

Trend Line Resistance, Support ( Buy / Sell Take Profit ) Levels
are located by passing the cursor over the Trend Line on the
right hand side of the chart. A small window pops up, and
the lvels are manetioned under the word Trendline.

I am Demo Trading, I have looked at, read, and tried pretty well
everything, and based upon all I've done this appears to be
the only method of Trading that shall actually work all the time.

I hope this helps all those that visit the Forex Factory Forum or
are trying to Trade successfully.

My final observances as a result of the scewered Update
Build 600 by Metaquotes.

All available Indicators with the MQ4 extension do not
work after being properly downloaded, and installed
into the MT4 Trading Platform.

I do not know about, because I have not tried
any Indicators or EAs with the EXE Extension.

When I right click on the MT4 Trading Platform's
Desktop Icon, Select Properties, Compatability,
check Run As Administrator, click Apply, OK,
Run As Administrator does not work.

When I go to Control Panel to Uninistall the
MT4 Trading Platform, the Uninistall Process
does not work. Instead I need to go to Computer,
C: Program Files, locate the MT4 Trading Platform
and delete it, then go back to Control Panel to Unistall,
Remove the no longer valid MT4 Trading Platform, and
what remains of the MT4 Trading Platform Icon left behind
in the Programs area, then right click on the MT4
Trading Platform Desktop, and delete that to remove it.

All of that is not healthy for a person's computer system.

The MT4 Trading Platform is highly popular worldwide, worked
quite well for all until Metaquotes Update Build 600 ruined it
for all worldwide.

In speaking with a couple of Brokers from Brokerages
they have not been made aware by their customers of
the situation with the MT4 Trading Platform as a result
of Update Build 600 by Metaquotes.

I have downloaded, and tried a few MT4 Trading Platforms
from different Brokerages, and I experience the same results,
since Update Build 600 by Metaquotes the MT4 Trading Platform
regardless of the Brokerage it is acquired from, is broken,
and does not work as it should, and did before Update
Build 600 by Metaquotes.

ok i followed all the instructions, to renamed the "Unused WebInstall". do i still put MQL4 Source files into the MQL4/Indicator folder or expert folder ?

anyone has sessions indicator that is easy to use without much setting, i tried so many sessions indicator including hanovers, etc but having spend several hours couldnt see naything on chart..... sorry for my poor english
