It works a treat. Just use RefreshCrapT4 (see http://www.forexfactory.com/showthre...28#post7252728) to update MT4 after compiling.

But to answer your question, the indicators and files you place in the folders will be visible but not available when you launch the program, i learnt this from using mt5.
So to access the correct folders to place the indicators, profiles and templates go to:
C:/ users/ (your pc)/ app data/ roaming/ metaquotes/ terminal/ (mt4 folder)*
* this last folder is tricky as they are named with long codes, and i have not tried to rename them. Simply click 'date modified' and have the most recent at the top, the top folder will be the most recent install of an mt4 program. hope this helps.

thanks for the response. is it because i am on windows xp? i have searched the computer many times and there is no roaming or appdata folder. when i click data folder in the file menu of mt4 it opens up the install folder

Does anybody know how to use RefreshCrapT4?
I downloaded RefreshCrapT4.EXE from the link, into the same folder as terminal.exe (i.e. the parent MT4 install folder).
When I run it, a black DOS window appears briefly, then disappears. But compiled changes to indicators in MT4 (build 600) don't seem to be updated.
I looked at the CPP source code, but I can't understand it.
I'm running Win XP Pro SP3. Does RefreshCrapT4.EXE require a 64-bit OS to run correctly?
Also, if I have multiple MT4s running simultaneously, how does it know which instance of MT4 to refresh?

It doesn't seem to work with multiple instances. I just tried it with two open and only one of them refreshed. I generally only have one open when I am developing so I can live with that.

I can't get it to work, even with just one instance.
I assume it's just a case of running it from a desktop icon — but it doesn't seem to be performing a refresh.
Ah well, I guess it was worth a try. Deleting and reattaching the indicator is an extra step, but at least it works.

It's absent on 509 charts.
GRRR. Two simple questions. One question, Any fix for ArrayCopyRates(Rates, szSymbol, iTimeFrame); with out going too 602? Second Question, On the new build I am still confused on the sources of the data. Does any one have information of the Flow of data between IBFX / dealing desk and Metaquotes ?

presumably there is no way to turn it off
its another pointless feature we don't need, especially as it says the TF in big bold writing across the top of the screen

Does anyone know how to get rid of Metatrader altogether?

what a farce the upgrade / downgrade has been - as soon as i find a decent alternative MQ's are out of here
(and hopefully before the end of 2014)


edit - it seems the crap at the top of the screen is spreading - one platform has just changed to 604
and now also has no.s next to the new TF text,
by the time we get to build 700 there might not be any space on the chart

does anyone else think MQ's are trying to F*** us over?

i have been using metatrader since mt3, now almost 10 years and have never had a single complaint..... untill today..... i can not express how dissappointed i am in version 500..... there needs to be a stripped down version option..... some of us can code and do not need all this version 500 crap...... it only gets in the way...... it's a nusiance.... it interferes....h
to trade and code, keep both simple... no call to impress....h

That is slight off topic. anyone know the file or location amd or the file that keeps your personal information in it? You know the one that pops up no matter what platform it is. and has your old infomation for the last install?. The Dealing desks do not get that info. It is metatrader information

hey jeff.... it might be in the config folders accounts or registry..... not sure.....

how did you come to be using 600 with ibfx...... all my accounts are still on 509.......

last year when metaquotes dropped the live update function, it became clear to me that our real money live accounts were going to be used as forced beta testers for the new versions.....h

hayseed ..Metastock and IBFX programmers roll back and forth between Companies . The owner of Metastock is a Close personal buddy of mine for many years. I been trading for 22 years and I have gotten 2 know lots of people. Build 600 was a world Wide Mess, Maybe Crystal was before Hayseed. in the Pyle. I will be driving down some time next week 2 have lunch with some of the people at IBFX and will get 2 the bottom of what I need.

Oh By the way the compiler is WAY better and i am getting 2 know it well. I just ripped out all my old flow tracking Functions

After hearing such loud exclamations worldwide MetaQuotes should write a converter from MQL into its modification. However it is impossible for them to do, I suppose.
