Hi All

I have not updated to build 600 yet.

I have 3 platforms running on 2 machines. 1 x Live and 2 Demos.

I am too wary to update at this stage as my 2 Demos are in testing stage and running a couple of ea,s on my Live account.

I will download another Demo and see how the T101 ea goes.

Don't close your platforms if you dont want to update, because when you open it will update automatically.

HEADS UP......

I use Windows 7
I have already ...User Account Control (UAC) enabled on my system
Since the new Update (version 600) came out...it (UAC) always prompt me if i want this program to make changes to my computer and i always choose..NO
and my MT4 works perfectly.
But if i choose ..YES..to update..it just goes into an endless loop.
Therefore i have stuck with the ..NO

This could help someone i guess.

Cheers.
It Is Well With My Soul..(Amen)

I have used for a couple of months MT5, and actually there is not the option for the off-line chart. If the mission for metatrader is to update MT4 close to the MT5, I guess they want us to change to MT5. That's all.

In that case sir - the MT4 platforms STAY on perpetually!

I am hoping that this issue will pass quickly - it's just a pesky nuisance.

By the way, in my absence my C5 XO555 SELL basket closed at BE and opened a Buy basket.
My C14 XO1060 SELL basket took a tiny 190pip hit and ALSO opened a Buy basket.

We dey dey look.

I am new to this thread and basketing in general, but having read through a lot of this thread I think I have everything set up correctly. I have opened a long basket per the chart image imbeded. I would love some thoughts on how the setup looks to those who are more experienced with this system.

Hey Kos and All,

I'm thinking of coding a stand-alone version of the indicator below -- one that doesn't require a metatrader.
Looks simple. just simulating a buy/sell at a specific point in the past, right ?

Let me know if there's interest for this guys.
It could be much more presentable and friendly... and maybe add a feature or two, like server-side Alarms and whatever.

CJ.-

Hello Pip-Rakers!

I thought I'd POST an update concerning this recent annoying MT4 build600 upgrade...

1. After INTENSE research and trials & errors, I can confidently conclude that this "upgrade" affects MORE of the folder filing method of the MT4 platform than anything else...IN ENGLISH that simply means that:

IF you know HOW to transfer your files to the new "location" of the MT4 build600, then EVERYTHING (experts, indicators, history, templates, scripts, etc) works as USUAL!

2. I MAY do a more in depth tutorial as time (and the need) permits BUT for now, here's HOW to "upgrade" to the MT4 build600:

***NOTE: We will ASSUME that you want to install from ALPARI-UK

- LEAVE your current MT4 build509 platform ALONE (whether it's open or close, just leave it alone for now).

- From your broker, download the most recent MT4 setup.exe file (IF you are like me, you would ALREADY have it on your laptop / PC - in this case, simply install a FRESH MT4 platform)

- When the "open new account" dialog box comes on, click on "next" until you get to the "Installation folder" section of the setup.

- For Installation folder, MAKE SURE you delete the "Program Files" text and simply leave or type:
C:\MetaTrader - Alpari UK(build600) - [this would differentiate it from your current AlpariUK MT4 folder right?]

- For Program group leave or type:
MetaTrader - Alpari UK(build600)

This will ENSURE that your new MT4 Platform gets installed on your C:/ Drive instead of your Program Files Folder.

- Continue with the setup by clicking on Next

- The MT4 build600 should now be installed

- Once done, click on FINISH.

- Depending on your selections during the installation, your NEW platform will now open or you may need to open it.

- Once open it will PROMPT you to open a new account. Well DON'T - we are NOT interested in all of that. (Remember that you ALREADY have your account so forget about this option EXCEPT if you don't have one already OR if you want a new account).

- So instead, click on Cancel

- You should now be prompted for your LOGIN DETAILS.

- Enter your login details (Login, Password, Server) - you should ALREADY have ALL of this from your "previous" build509 account.

- Once logged in you SHOULD be able to see any open trades you have on your "old" account now on this "new" build600 account. Besides that, as a basketter, you will see a NAKED platform...Don't worry we SHALL clothe it shortly!

3. Now we need to get ORGANIZED:

- First we NEED to get the "new folder location" of our latest MT4 build600 platform. (Some of you may get lost here BUT DON'T give up). Simply right-click on any of the open charts >>> then roll over "Template" >>> and then select "save template or load template" - any one will do - doesn't matter.

- From the dialog box that pops up, go to its ADDRESS BAR (just like you do when you want to enter an address into your browser), and CLICK ONCE on the folder icon at the beginning - the top left hand corner. IF you get this right, it should HIGHLIGHT your new folder location which you should COPY...the "location address" should look like this:

C:\Users\NameOfComputer\AppData\Roaming\MetaQuotes\Terminal\85FDD8C10B3C8D5C3296DED110627D2C

- Truncate that address like this:
C:\Users\NameOfComputer\AppData\Roaming\MetaQuotes\Terminal\85FDD8C10B3C8D5C3296DED110627D2C

- THIS IS YOUR NEW MT4 BUILD600 folder location. IF I were you, I will copy this location into a notepad and STORE it for future reference.

4. NOW we are READY to clothe our new MT4 build600! But BEFORE we do this, we NEED TO make our new build600 TOTALLY NAKED!!!

- When you installed the new build, it actually installed into TWO locations on your PC / Laptop
Location A. C:\MetaTrader - Alpari UK(build600)
Location B. C:\Users\NameOfComputer\AppData\Roaming\MetaQuotes\Terminal\85FDD8C10B3C8D5C3296DED110627D2C

- So BEFORE we clothe these locations up, we NEED to DELETE EVERYTHING INSIDE the following folders of BOTH locations A & B above:
* ...\MQL4\Experts
* ...\MQL4\Indicators
* ...\MQL4\Scripts

* ...\templates (***Please note that there is no MQL4 here)
* Leave ...\history alone - nothing to delete here (***Please note that there is no MQL4 here)

So far so good.

- So NOW that we are totally nude, we are going to TRANSFER our files from the "currently used" old build509 into our NEW build600:

- Open the folder location of the old build509:
- Copy the contents of your experts folder. PASTE it into the ...\MQL4\Experts location of BOTH buid600 folders above.
- Copy the contents of yourexperts\indicators folder. PASTE it into the ...\MQL4\Indicators location of BOTH buid600 folders above.
- Copy the contents of your experts\scripts folder. PASTE it into the ...\MQL4\Scripts location of BOTH buid600 folders above.

- Copy the contents of your templates folder. PASTE it into the templates location of BOTH buid600 folders above.
- For the history folder, all you need are your OFFLINE CHARTS:
I will ASSUME you are interested in transferring your DEMO account offline charts...
Copy the contents of your history\AlpariUK-Demo - Micro+Classic folder. PASTE it into the history location of BOTH buid600 folders above.

***Note if your account is live, then copy the contents of your Live Server Name's Folder.

- Okay - we are fully clothed now! Re-start your New build600 MT4 platform

5. Finishing Touches:

- Open your offline charts
- Arrange your toolbars as you usually like it (optional)
- Load your templates onto your offline charts
- Test your t101 (optional)
- Test your scripts (optional)
- Test your indicators (optional)
- Test whatever (optional)

***IF you have followed the steps perfectly, then EVERYTHING should be in order!

6. At this point you should have BOTH build509 & build600 running concurrently - It's YOUR CHOICE on WHEN to switch.

7. For those who CAN'T follow ALL this loooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnggggggggggg story, WAIT until the markets close on Friday and then use the weekend before market resumption on Sunday to follow these steps carefully...you WILL get it (it actually READS HARDER than it really is! )

8. Please I DON'T want master Kos to injure anybody here o - ESPECIALLY myself so PLEASE let's NOT turn this thread into a thread for setting up build600!

9. I hope this helps someone (***NOTE: If you trade other systems you can also do the same thing to upgrade to the new build600).

10. In case I am WRONG, please forgive me in advance and let us take solace in the FACT that at LEAST this would have been an exercise on how to NAVIGATE the Windows platform!

Thank you for reading.

Regards,

Ty

Hey guys,

just looking at the pairs of the 14pair, which pairs do you reverse if any?

USDCHF should be reversed, that should be a no brainer but what about any others?

I see some people reversing GBPCHF and EURCHF but some people don't.

Which pairs do you reverse?

cheers

I don't reverse any. I find it doesn't help the basket most of the time, and if GBP is leading the way, which it does frequently, having GBPCHF rolling with the basket instead of against is huge.

Heh heh heh...

Did I mention that am awake now?

Anyways:

I noticed on the C5 that the 140 level has simply REFUSED to be broken...(at least I've made 600pips in the upward move trading 0.02 lots and targeting 300pips)

I also noticed the same about the C14...the 205 level has been holding for the PAST four days...

IF there is a Continuation at this point, then we are in for a strong SELL...

On the other hand, IF price finally breaks through these level, the the Reversal is Squarely in place.

We will know by today or tomorrow...see the REDNESS below!

Ty
