Thank you so much for pointing out that I've wasted a couple of hundred hours of my time going through years of data on half a dozen pairs, your post has been extremely helpful. I now regret sending SP the Superman suit in the mail, it should have gone to you.

my contribution was to marvel at the tendency at trading forums of "traders" to be raised to hero status without any good reason

you apply for a "skilled" job vacancy, the employer is going to want you to verify your claims; at forums you are "skilled" just because you say you are........which is quite interesting

yes, that's him

he has locked some of his stats, but when i was able to see them he ticked all the boxes for me re a verified professional trader

-- history of at least 12mths (last 12mths below), low risk trading, and a decent sized account/lot size; most accounts i've viewed dont meet these criteria

You may find it interesting Peter but from a personal point of view I find it irrelevant to the reasons I mainly come here. You see, even though my gut tells me SP is a very nice bloke and has offered to give something back to someone like me who has just 12 months trading currencies under his belt, I don't really care what he, or anyone else says about their profitability. What I do care about and find very relevant is the information he and others have freely given in this thread, and other threads, so that I can check out their methods to see if they suit me personally and can improve my trading. It saves us newbies starting from scratch and this particular thread has saved me an enormous amount of time for which I am very grateful.

Hero status? LoL, I don't think so. I've read much of the coveted James16 thread but I don't think he's a hero either. 60minuteman is obviously a very good trader and freely gives out information to anyone interested in listening but I don't see him as a hero either. I marvel at the tendency of many forum members who get a kick out of creating irrelevant noise, which, as stated in a post above by me, can become overwhelming and totally screw a great forum. I've no idea why anyone sees it as necessary but that's just me.

if you can choose between the one guy that has proven himself or the 10,000 that refuse to,
most here at FF would rather those that refuse to prove themself, they will even defend the right of those individuals not to prove themself LOL

but really, i have no idea if SP can or cant trade, and dont care either, but if i'm going to follow him around like a fool, then it's worth verifying the claims first

Another question Chris, do you use stops on news trades or do you sit there and watch the volatility and hope like hell you've got the direction right?

My news trades are taken fifteen minutes after the announcement. My stop is always in place. The trade is taken after the spreads normalize and the news has been digested.

I will answer this once. I won't get into a pissing match.
If I was selling something I would feel a need to prove my performance. I have nothing to sell but based on your posts I would guess that maybe you do. I showed a month of live trades and it isn't good enough. If I showed a year it wouldn't be good enough.
The fxtrade account you are referencing is from a guy selling trading coaching. He should have to prove his ability as he wants your money.
