hmm i dunno if you're joking...pardon my ignorance, i'm actually very unfamiliar with japanese news releases and the effects on market. i tend to take more macro view long term and let order flow / ta tell me the rest of the story.

i think compared to nfp, any asian side news will be drops in the bucket for now

btw........ it's interesting to note that U/J has reacted to the monthly pivots.

102.80 being the low thus far

see above, you caught me in the middle of the post. i've been in and out of the market so my entry is not great. also, i'm in an options trade and also not a great entry but i know the bull thesis is still in tact.

Yeah.... I didn't see your chart at first.
And yes, the bull thesis is still intact of which I'm humbly aware.
Maybe 102.80 will be the biggest bear correction (250 pips or so)

Every now again its showing signs

of wanting to climb

but somebody pulls the chain just as fast

Few longs taking diving lessons

But long also EUR/YEN

same situation.

Hopefully end off week we get a moon mission before close:nerd:

It's called a "sideways" market. Most don't like to trade that because there's no real direction.
It's been that for hours but best of luck.

It would appear there must be some option expiries today that some one doesn't want to lose out on , the other side doesn't want to pay. At least the last four hours or so , been quite a skirmish so far.

It tells me that the price of oil is going down
It tells me that there is a pause in Yen-printing
It tells me that Japanese housewives have stopped putting their money offshore (AJ carry trade)
...all of which may just be symptomatic of mid-month blues... (well maybe not the oil part)

Position Summary:

My existing position in both the FEB07 and MAR07 series remain untouched.

I’m not doing anything terribly special here, my JAN17 PUT was ITM and expiry is in about one hour – I don’t want to be assigned in this scenario.

I again rolled the position out giving myself yet another 7 day period to see if we can continue to see some Yen strength, certainly it appears we have found a short/medium term top in the (spot) market.

The roll deposits 190 points of premium into my account – a trade that didn’t go my way still nets me profit week after week.

You are, but that’s understandable.

These are all based on the CME GLOBEX 6J future; I don’t trade OTC options, which have strikes resembling spot market prices.

The 4th segment written in my trade is always the strike, 0.00965 and 0.0102 for example.

Is there any reason why you trade Globex futures as opposed to OTC?
