{quote} Dont know quite how you come to that conclusion. My pre-news setups requires allignment of: - MAs on M15 & M5 - Asc Arrows - stochs H1/M30/M15/M5 How is that not a Genesis trade ?? I have described it, and everytime I see that setup, I am alerting traders what to look for. That maybe one day, after repeated reminders of what to look for, some may choose to place such a trade. I have seen this setup re-occur over and over again, if it is not for you that isnt a problem, but some may wish to watch and learn. Not all new events have such setups,...

Not sure about others, but whenever RJ, Wiz and Marty tell us when they enter a trade and where they exited, I always study the charts to see the setup in the hope of learning something.

It has proven very helpful for me.

RD,

The line up of MAs was very strong, just prior to the news release Price had crossed above M15 EMA30 & SMA 60; M5 EMA30 & SMA60 & M30 EMA30

So I had my stop 10 pips below M5 SMA60 so it was 26

{quote} If you use Xaphod's stoch-mtf, then it will give you the stoch the whole way through. For example, if you are 45 minutes into the hour, then the last 45 minutes will show as a different colour (in my case orange) because it's not yet locked in, but, it gives you an indication of where it's likely to finish. Diagram below shows you what I mean ... the bits between the pink lines aren't "locked in", and on a normal stoch you wouldn't see them. But the stoch-mtf interprets where the stoch is at the present moment and paints that as orange until...

Thanks Marty, I really enjoy reading your posts. Your insight is brilliant and a great help.

I have been trading Genesis from the beginning, but after a serious illness last year, I've been getting back into trading slowly and surely.

I have had to ajust my charts to be as visual as I can and I have been trying out the stoch tape from Xaphod(brilliant) on my 5 min charts with stochs on my 15 min charts (not into 1 min) and wanted to ask if you have tried it at all.

Thanks Pattie

Ditto on the entry Marty!

My exit was at the retrace back to S1. I waited to see if the BRN would be broken.

Could it be that there's hope for me after all Lol.

Another great trade Marty.

Question: 1) do you normally trade off the 5M/15M with higher TF confirmation? Do you trade 1M/5M as well?

Also, you seem to watch a lot of things across 3 different TF. Where do you put it all? Are you using multiple screens or multiple profiles? Any chance you would post a screen shot of it?

Thanks, and continued good trading.

TY,

I posted a chart recently.

Yes. always and only M15/M5.

M1 would do my head in. I tried trading M1 a few years ago, and failed miserably. Horses for courses, M15/M5 does just fine for me - suits my personality. I have been trading M15/M5 for about 3 years, and very comfortable with that.

Yes, I will always check H1 & M30 prior to a trade. Recently I posted my pretrade process.

Once I see M15 looking tastey, I will check H1 & M30, then if that confirms, I will sit and wait for M5 to allign.

I have on my M15 chart:
- asc tape H1/H4
- Genesis matrix H1/H4
- stoch H1/M15
- Genesis EMA5; plus EMA30 & SMA60

I have on my M5 chart:
- asc tape M30/M15
- Genesis matrix M30/M15
- stoch M30/M5
- Genesis EMA5; plus EMA30 & SMA60

I split my Metatrader screen 50/50 - M15/M5

Hope this helps

Agreed - although I have taken another sell in EJ after it retraced back to yesterday's low - €'s leading the way down and has last week's low ~ 10 pips away....+10 locked in, so I'm very relaxed and looking forward to a cold San Miguel for my SunDowner....

A good weekend to everyone....
