Yes that is the usual setup I have - I will appreciate any suggestion how to improve it.

Not sure why but for some reason M15 and H1 stoch does npt extend the line all the way to the current bar on 1M chart (I assume they go to the last H1 bar) - Is this normal or something strange is going on here?

The HTF stochs will catch up w the LTF stochs when the respective periods end.............eg when 15 period ends the M15 stoch fills out

I would include M30 stochs for M1 trading

If you use Xaphod's stoch-mtf, then it will give you the stoch the whole way through. For example, if you are 45 minutes into the hour, then the last 45 minutes will show as a different colour (in my case orange) because it's not yet locked in, but, it gives you an indication of where it's likely to finish.

Diagram below shows you what I mean ... the bits between the pink lines aren't "locked in", and on a normal stoch you wouldn't see them. But the stoch-mtf interprets where the stoch is at the present moment and paints that as orange until it's "locked in"

I have 4 charts for both pairs I trade on M1 [sometimes a 3rd] and each chart goes up in TF and stoch accordingly from M1 to H4, so I get a clean picture in real time and shape......the 4 charts is a good deterrent for not being able to look at more pairs as my laptop doesnt have the width to cope w any more without a scrolling fiasco........forced discipline if you will.

Don't know Nikz but guess the holiday mode must be good and he's making the most of it! If he takes any longer I will do a drive by for you and see if there are any lights on at his place..........

As I described yesterday perfect pre-news setup for GU

Long from 9:25 just closed +90

Also took EJ from open of 7:30 (my standard early morning setup - thx Islander !!)

Nope, targets all hit during Tokyo today

Nice to see a good bump though....................good for resetting ATRs and some breathing space for price to have some room to move in between tight ranges

Somebody always knows........................but news trading is what we dont do..............we system trade.

Im guilty of showing off the odd news trade and winning..........but its not Genesis.......well not when I started anyway.

My pre-news setups requires allignment of:

- MAs on M15 & M5
- Asc Arrows
- stochs H1/M30/M15/M5

How is that not a Genesis trade ??

I have described it, and everytime I see that setup, I am alerting traders what to look for. That maybe one day, after repeated reminders of what to look for, some may choose to place such a trade.

I have seen this setup re-occur over and over again, if it is not for you that isnt a problem, but some may wish to watch and learn.

Not all new events have such setups, so I dont trade them, they have to line-up perfectly for me to trade them.

Nice - I had a buy at 9:12 and took half off before the news...dah.....now just been in a short from R3 looking for a retrace to R2 took another 20 as I have to go out....

I was just happy with the pop, will wait for a deep stoch retracement before trying again on GU
