Disliked{quote} Just dropping by and decided to chime in on a topic that has been covered time and again. One should be ...Ignored
The original TDI is programmed this way, that the first tick of the candle defines the value for the current (running) candle. At the first tick open=close. So the TDI values are fixed for the hole time the candle is in production and does not further correlate to what happens on the price until the next candle opens, and the game begins from the start. Nothing which happens to the price will be shown in the tdi values unless a new candle opens.
But the fatal thing is, that then this TDI values of the (old) candle get the new values based on the meanwhile changed close prices of the closed candle. That means that a cross which happened on the opening, even in this version of the indicator is no longer there, because now the last real close price is going into the calculation. You only see the result 4 hours later.
So after (i.e. on the H4) 4 hours the tdi on the old candle gets the real value and a cross can disappear.
Some would like that view, because they are only interested in the open value. I would like to see the real events thsthappenings.
looking on a chart afterwards with that behaviour of the tdi, you will even cannot see that a cross, which was there on the candle opening for 4 hours, disappears after the new candle opens or if you manually make an update on the chart.
Summarized that means, that the cross is only real if it persists the PA until the close of the candle.
