I actually believe, it is the trading education industry that actually prevents traders from being profitable.

Its tough enough to make a buck, without people out there intentionally trying to destroy wannabie traders.

I dont know any other profession, where the education side is so destructive.
I am a fallible imperfect person; so I must be a fallible imperfect trader.

I agree.....you only have to look at the 'News' section here to see that. It is full of all sorts of analyst reports from some very dubious sources (who no doubt pay FF for the privilege), that if followed, would definitely lead to ruin...which again, shows where the priorities of FF lay.....

I actually do. Not a profession, more of an area of life where people are so misled - that'a health related issues and diet. It may not be that obvious but...

Well all I can suggest, is trying to start, baby steps of course.

Even get a demo account to practice trading news events.

If you get a Genesis signal, just after a news event, trade it !!

If you dont start trying to trade them, you will never cross the Yukon.

Bear in mind you HAVE to understand the sensitivity of the news, tier 2 or tier 3 news, easily tradeable, tier 1, leave for a while

I read DiNapoli's book D-Levels early in my trading career, wished I had just stopped there - unbelieveable, how much utter rubbish I have read, that just sent me down deadends

Wona check if I have the right pivots. Always confused with time zones. I have in computer London time I beleave its GMT + 1. Broker has 1h more so its gmt+2.

Using FXI Pivot indicator it seems I cant change time.

So GBPUSD I got this pivots

R3 1.64607
R2 1.64221
R1 1.63907
pivot 1.63521
S1 1,63207
S1 1,62821
S1 1,62507

Is that conform with yours?

I quite agree with this. I have been to many bookshops, some specific finance-related bookshops, and probably only one out of four books on forex actually discusses pivot points. And I bought a lot of them too. Nowadays, I wouldn't be able to trade without pivot points. And this is just one example.

When I look back at most of the books I've bought or stuff I've read and studied on the Internet, I wish I had just saved those money and time and read and re-read and re-read the Genesis Thread. Almost all of the things I've learnt about forex that is actually "useful for making money" and that I actually use in my forex system (Genesis plus a couple of twists here and there) comes from this thread and the people who post here.

While I wouldn't go as far as to say that most of the 'education' on forex is designed to lead people astray, I do think they are far less than helpful. RJ, Wiz, Marty etc could write a better book than 90% of the mediocre stuff that's out there. I would pay for it actually (except these guys give their advice and thoughts for free on this thread, you just have to piece them together over a period of time).

P.S. Say no to Elliott Waves, at least for forex trading.

Go to the FF Home page and scroll down to the bottom, on the right side under Company and read their blog - a whole load of changes....the vouches are now those Red and Gold Diamonds next to our names.....
