Gidday Richard - Before I get involved in posting some charts today, I thought it a good time to talk about my take on the Macd issues.
IMHO - it is not the Silver Bullet - it is only the TRIGGER that tells me that what I am seeing on price action is exactly what I am expecting or as Phil puts it - ANTICIPATING.
Imagine this for a moment: When we are in a trend, Price is happily bouncing along the 8ma most of the time but sometimes the 21 as well. As we know, price does not travel in a straight line upwards or downwards for extended periods of time (under normal conditions anyway ). It rests from time to time so we see pullbacks happening. These can happen at most any S/R, T/L, RN or as we have been learning - THE MA's. The Ma's are what we are trying to base our decisions upon and when I see price pulling away from that level generally I have missed the chance to enter a trade. What I am happy to wait for (PATIENCE NEEDED) is for price to settle and return to my MA level and at that point, I am given an opportunity to play when I see that price start moving again in the most recent direction =TREND CONTINUATION (TC). AT THAT POINT I WILL TAKE MY CONFIRMATION FROM THE MACD IF I AM GETTING THE CORRECT BAR CLOSE THAT TELLS ME MY EXPECTATIONS ARE ACCEPTABLE BUT my rules allow only for me to play in line with the market mood ( 89 Bullish or Bearish ? )
It is my job to pick the very best signal from all the pairs and if the Macd is confirming what I had anticipated price to do, I am fee to pull my trigger.
Don't forget though - it is easy to find & enter a trade - the hard part is getting out of it unharmed
Hope you guys can follow what I am trying to say.
Any comments are most welcome - perhaps you guys might have an even better way for this to be explained that will make it easier for all of us to understand.

UJ PROGRESS TONIGHT

For general discussion and I won't be offended if anyone queries my reasons to play here .
It is against me by about 22 pips as I write this but I am prepared to give it a chance to reward my patience
I am aware of the pulling down today but the series of lower wicks in past few bars are telling me to be confident in my expectations. Even if Price pulls all the way back to the 21, there is good reason to expect it to hold as Support & if that happens, perhaps another opportunity to enter if Macd will tell me it is in agreement.
Lets see what happens?

I went back to basics and this was my trade.... it was planned but was it just beginners luck??

This is a live account but only 10p per pip but real money...! Hate losing...

So back to basics just ma 8,21,89..... and my reasons for trading.

Price consolidating
Price just above BRN
MA moved apart then came back together, ready to move apart....I get the feeling this is the part i could not see... TC - CT - TC etc....

Well indeed we had the trigger from MACD and could take a trade with eg: TP to the 200 SL last swing low.

I took the trade a little too early, but with the two wicks trying to reach the 365 I was convinced with the low I saw at the moment we could go higher.

Hi Richard,

First of all, congrats on your trade.

It may be hard to do, but as you work on it you will able to feel the market rhythm better.

Remember that price reacts on MAs, BRN, Support and Resistance levels, Trendline. That is what
we need to prioritize. And when everything is already at place, we can take a look at MACD as the trigger.
Not the other way around.

PS: You may want to add SMA 200 as well. As the price also react to it.

Took the pullback earlier. Now, I am waiting for a possible TC Binnie..

How about this Aussie - had people for dinner so charts out of bounds for me. Missed this completely

Looking now , it could be a possibility of a CT back to the 21 area?? Semi Doji off the 0.9100 and T/Line. Any comments?

My macd version was not printing all of the RT, TC etc.....somewhere it had got corrupted..

A fresh install and Bobs ya uncle...tah dah...

Anyway, How did you go? I got in and out pretty well. Feels great when we have a good run & long may it continue.

Sorry to get back to you that late, but there is my answer: no it is not, the shape is not there, and as seen on your chart the trend line (blue) has not been broken, then need a pull back to make a TC or rejection on HS,
As seen today, price did make a breakout to the up side and didn't break the blue line .go to daily chart there is a breakout of a consolidation that could have a 375 pips potential. But will see...

One shape that still valid is from the AUDUSD which price already had broken and retest (made a TC there), so my guess is that it is still going down. -from the original rejection there is a lot of pips that could have been made there...with patience!

Dear 4H-MACD traders,

I trading and studing this system now for a while. I think I know the rules. But I'm not always confident after I took the trade. Therebey I trade it and after all I stand arround BE. That's because I can't give the MACD-triggers the real/correct value. and often it looks good but the trade is going wrong. Well that was why I was searching for an extra edge and I think I really found him.

I added the Harmonic Elliot Wave (HEW) theory. After studing it, and also mak predictions I think it's really a valuable add-on to this system.
HEW is in principle a changed Elliot Wave counting. But HEW can give you much more info about where price can stall. It works with projections and a huge excelsheet where you can calculate the projections, I think Yvon will like this HEW a lot.

But oke I need to say... it's a little study to work the stuff through!

I find that it gives me the following extra's:
-I have more an idea were to put my SL and my TP (not just the last low/last high, specifik MA or round number. No the projections given me a lot of extra TP/SL info
-I have a better idea where price can stall.
-I can better judge the MACD in combination with the MA's I'm using.
-Finally I can build my trades arround a wave (from beginning of the wave to the end) That means that If my first trade (in the beginning of the wave) is in the right direction. I cover with that trade all the other trades I make in that wave! So if somewhere the wave construction is breaking (it always can happen).... I still can get out without problems.

The image I added of still running trades makes this visual I hope!!.... and ofcourse I hope I will hit at least the 1.3625 in a day ...or two...

Search on google for HEW or Harmonic Elliot Wave or Ian Copsy you defenitly will find it

ps: I know there are people how don't want to do other things in this thread then the real 4H MACD system by Phill. But I'm convinced that HEW will make this system much and much solid. while it can give you a very valuable extra edge....namely: "where can price most probably turning" I also think the image let show this. All the trades I took were arround buttom or top (5 times in this example)

There is no MT4 HEW indicator. You have to count the waves by yourself, also the projections are calculated by yourself.
It's work to understand it but it's paying off as you see!

Search on google for "Harmonic Elliot Wave" and you will find more info

ps1. I really think that the 4H MACD is a very good system. Phil is/was absolutly doing a great job!! But for me I couldn't pick always the right MACD triggers, or I was to late for having a nice move and was strugling with my TP and SL area's. HEW can give you that little extra info that can give you more confidence in a trade.
ps2. Do not use HEW on it's own for trading... it's just another extra edge we can have. Combine this with the 4H MACD and the system is more solid! So use HEW as an extra indicator and not as a system!!

Hi, I just closed my trades,

HEW is telling price can stall at arround 1.3625, maybe 1,3645. Price went quick high and retraced also quickly with a high of 1,3618. Well I thought that is good enough for now!! and closed everything in the down move and maybe price is still reaching 1.3625/1.3645...whatever..I'm delited about the result and my confidence in those trades!. It looks after the high price will reverse to 1.3540-50 (to wave iv), after that it can go back to 1.3625 to finally 1.3680 (wave v) and then a big pull back, after that we get the last wave up in the bigger wave sequence. All this is coming from the projections and the HEW counting.

See also http://harmonicelliottwave.blogspot.nl/ where the forecast with HEW is published for 26 nov.

I think you can see the power of HEW. But be carefull. Don't use it on it's own, combine it with the 4HMACD system...and look to the results!

Well look at the images where you can see the results of the token trades. I have a total gain in this leg of 15,77% => not bad I think. (the trade with 0,7pips was an error of mine => that was no trade!!)

I saw you have a b c labels on your chart. Isn't that from an indicator?

Nope, I placed them myself, that is no indicator or something....that is the HEW wave counting, my visual guide of what we most probably can expect from the pair

In the image you see my counting in the H1, without any 4H macd system... this is just for a better look.
But have a look at both websites (the blog and the website) => google: search for "Harmonic Elliot Wave" ...that makes things much clearer I think!

btw... If I do the wave counting I think we still can reach 1.3625 /45...we will see. But in the wave down (after wave v) I want to look again for a trade and then I'm looking to the 4H MACD with the rules

Hi Binnie,

I took two UJ trades this week. The CT and TC went very well.
Already out of it and took a position in EU. A bit late, but I think it is showing a clear market rhythm.

Bullish view for now, unless EU come under the SMA 200
