Hello
I've read something about Phil Neil system; it sounds very good, even if i have to understand something more. I'm trying to add some of my personal indicator. Do you use other indicator with macd?
I've attached an image :there are trades i've made in demo mode using Phil's system with my indicator: I look at macd and enter when my indicator is oversold (if buy) and overbought (if sell) - I compare signals with same indicators but other length. The bars with green vertical line are buy bar at close, bars with other vertical line are sell bar at close. Stop loss is always 50 pips and profit take depends on other indicators. What do you think?
Thanks

HELLO
I post my new entry signal. I think I've made a mistake to open this thread here: it's not a discussion but a trader's journal.
Bye

hi there! i think it's a good idea that somebody keeps a journal of trades using the 4hr MACD Strategy.I'll follow this thread closely.I've no doubt that you'll be successful following this strategy. I know it's helped me tremendously. Although I think it's also a good idea to "personalise" a strategy by throwing in one's favourite indicator here and there, just make sure not to omit too much or add on too much that the original strategy would actually change as a result.I've seen it happen before.

As for indicators. There's only one additional indicator that I use with the strategy,I posted this on the 4hr MACD thread yesterday. For those traders that, like me, don't always remember to check for divergence, I found this MACD Divergence indicator that you can overlay in the 4hr MACD window of your chart. Just change the divergence MACD settings to 5:13:1 and it'll automatically draw the divergence lines on your chart. The up/down arrows (buy/sell signals) co-incide nicely with 4hr MACD signals sometimes, as was the case here. You can also visit Palmer's blog here http://www.fxtradeblog.com for any additional indicators, information, templates, etc

Remember, you're flying the flag for Phillip and the MACD thread's posters! Go get 'em, tiger!
Wishing you many pips.

Me again...just curious...what are the bands and other indicators you're using in this chart? How do you tie it in with MACD?

Hi Doji Star
even if I use 4h Macd, I don't use the same system of Phil: he gives me the idea of macd and the timing style (wonderful: a look every 4 hour!): macd, like that of Phil, of course, is helpful for me to take entry signal when my indicators (something like a stochastic) is overbought or oversold. Usually, in my demo way, I don't trade every signal, but I wait for a higher minimum to buy or a lower maximum to sell.
Thanks for your interesting.

Hi
because I have not the possibility to look the charts for the next 2 days, I try to suppose my next hypothetical trade: usd/jpy - wait for macd to close up and enter long for a risky trade because is in middle of cycle; eur/usd - i expect a long direction for a while and when macd closes down and indicator of half cycle is overbought, enter short (gbp/usd as eur/usd).
Bye

Hi
fortunately I've been able to connect my laptop to internet (I'm not at home). I erase order in usd/jpy because macd doesn't close up and close usd/chf long position. see pictures
for eur/usd and gbp/usd, see previous post.
What do you think of my style trading? Consider that I usually don't trade every signal, but in a monthly cycle, I wait for a higher minimum to buy or a lower maximum to sell. Are someone using style trading like mine?

I don't trade this pair but it seems to be popular in this forum, so I try to make a trade with it in my demo: it's risky because in middle of cycle. See chart.
I'm waiting for some comments on my trading style and timing.

Hello
I don't use 4hr timeframe anymore. I concentrate on daily timeframe. I have less stress, I have to look charts once a day and with an appropriate money management I'm reaching, with time, excellent results.
Meditate and do not overtrading!
