Thanks for the answer TT, I admire your honesty..

It makes a bit more sense to me now..

But to be honest, I don't think you'll get prepared trading higher lots just because you're doing it on a demo account, just the opposite in fact, nothing beats the real emotions when one's hard earned money is on the line...

IMO its about confidence, the more confidence you'll get in your trading methodology when trading on a live account, the more likelihood there is for your lot size to increase when seeing your edge plays out over and over again..

I can only speak for myself though, we're all different people, and if it works for you, there's no reason to change what you're doing..

i can agree on the 1h... on the others i dont have hammers on them. 3451 is/was one of the better places for a bounce. anything on a day here is inside to me. the usdx has a less then perfect hammer on the month, at past support. the first one at support that i can see since 1991.. its not perfect. the upper wick is 15%.. instead of 10%.

I don't think you owe anybody an explanation as to how or what you trade.

Even if you don't have any skin in the game by way of a real account, is of no consequence.

What I think is important, is that you continue to post in the same manner as always and offer an idea of your interpretation of the market by way of your charts.

I would be willing to be that a grand lot of Economic Analysts couldn't trade profit on demo. This isn't an easy game. It is a skill set that you do acquire. And if using demo accounts along with your real funds is your vehicle to success in the market, all the better to ya, TT.

Along with this, I hope it encourages others new to market to follow these steps. It'd probably save them from a world of hurt they need not experience.

Throughout our lives we prepare for things we may encounter by way of an education provided by others and practiced by ourselves.

From the simplicity of first steps, through operating a motor vehicle and every aspect of education we obtain through both public government sponsored education through the college and university levels.

Work a job for a while and you are assessed by way of completing the same job over and over until you can advance.

Repetition is the mother of knowledge.

We are all different in our methodology and thinking. What is good for the goose, may not be the same for the gander.

Though I am sure some will agree with you, others may not.

English is not my first language - and even in my mother tongue, I often struggle to get across what I meant to say. A true introvert.

I do have a live account that I trade every year - the purpose of earning a free holiday in December. But I look around me and I think about the sh*t I am dealing with in my personal business - every day of my life - and I think I may want to up the ante on the forex front. I'm not getting any younger. For this, I need to invest more. Larger lots. Magnify what I was doing.

How do I make the transition? In my mind - running a demo with a larger pool. Larger lots. Witnessing the digits. I treat this demo as a real account. Small risk. I have a 10.6% draw down over the past 97 days. It does bother me - but I believe this to be within the scope.

I am of the opinion that this will make me a little more comfortable going forward. I do understand that the mental game will be massive. But I know me. This is helping.

I truly enjoy trading. It's awesome.

I also like fishing.

I want to do both one day.

People can flame all they want. I have a goal.

I talked to him today. He got banned for no real reason. He may be back as another name, but will stay in his own thread and not help anyone with his trades anymore. Depends on the TF you are looking at. On the Daily is getting into smaller range.

100% agree with this analysis. Although to be realistic it probably won't break until the ECB on Thursday. Best reward/risk is just to stop in on a break but it's also OK to maybe go short 1/4th of your max position here (very low leverage), and short the other 3/4th on the break. I would stop out on a move back through 1.3575 but it doesn't seem too likely in front of the ECB.

I was quite happy in trading my own funds from smaller lots, down to micros and up to the larger into standard sized lots. Thought I had complete control of my emotions because it does come to the point where pushing a button becomes mechanical.

Until...

I started trading for others.

My game went to shit. I would look back on my trades, exiting for small losses instead of waiting for gains.

It is a personal level of comfort that needs to be acquired. This can only come one way. Ya have to do what you have to do, if you want to do what you would like to do.

Working with a demo account, much the same as you, helped me get back my game. Helped me successfully gain back control of my emotions and helped me in the field when it came to working for others.

Don't throw your money into market because you think this is what needs to be done. Gain your skillset, practice with the levels you can afford to risk and demo the rest. When you are ready to take those first steps with larger trades, they are still going to be tough. But if you have taken the steps that need be taken to get you to that level, there will be a certain confidence that will help carry you.

Scared money doesn't trade. And traders with no confidence cannot succeed. I've seen it. I've lived it. It isn't pretty.

When you are ready, brother.
