Engaging and interacting on some reasonable level is more likely to produce some common ground where nearly everyone involved has a stake in the desired outcome. That tends to be a Positive to the community as a whole. In the less frequent occasions where 2 peeps simply cannot tolerate each others presence, then removing the proximity might work, in other words, you start your own thread and block the peeps you simply cannot engage without having a fit (my iggy list now has 3 people on it... one has been banned, one went off the rails, and the other one is an idiot)
After some time, the shine eventually wears off that endeavor even if you DID have good stuff to say, and eventually you and all your former protaganists all wind up here at Snprr's Blackhole again, simply cuz IT REALLY IS the center of the Known Forex Universe whether we like it or not (and I don't). By then, all the piss and spit has leaked out of you and you don't care so much anymore about this or that reply from whoever.
I mean Attila may be an asshole, but he's one of my favorite assholes (he wasn't always tho), and I'd back him anyday just for that reason. Gator is an asshole too, and so when they go at it, I sit back, crack open a cold one and watch two of my favorite assholes work it out...
Magix & Cloggie are two of the world's greatest assholes, but dear lord, I'd have to be a profound idiot to ignore their views on stuff, which is NOT the same as agreeing with it all...
Then, while doggedly crawling down the Path of Whirled Peas towards FF Utopia, I realize I'm ALSO somebody's favorite asshole (actually A LOT of somebodies) and there you have it...
The Circle is complete! 
Unless of course, I'm just an asshole and no one likes me at all...
