Yeah I use Thomson Reuters Eikon and you can do all of that and much, much more which is good, I pay around $1,600/month which isn't that much considering what I get.

Bloomberg is another alternative however that is more expensive.

Infront terminals are a cheaper thing but I am not the biggest fan personally.

The latest media driven crap is that when Janet Yellen takes the big chair QE will suddenly be extended forever and ever because she is dovish. Bullshit. Right now Janet Yellen gets only one vote on monetary policy. When she becomes chair she will get... one vote, just like everyone else. It is amazing how easily most traders here fall for the media hysteria. Journalists sensationalise their stories because they are competing for your attention, they get paid per click in most cases. They don't really care if their prophecies are fulfilled or not - they have no skin in the game. When the Feds targets of 7% and 2% are eventually reached and it begins scaling back asset purchases, people will be outraged that it took everyone by surprise deliberately, blah blah fucking blah. Come on people. Just. Calm. The. Fuck. Down. The fed is not going to deviate from its stated taper targets of 7% unemployment and 2% inflation. Janet Yellen is not going to turn the fed upside down. Her scones may be nicer than Bens, and her language may be softer, but the other members wont change their targets or voting patterns to impress her. She isn't that attractive.

Large-scale and impressive, thanks, but (1) QE news as a heavy-mover are already in the price of EU today imo, (2) most of traders are mob and they do not have time for a deep analys - just buy the expectations & sell the news, (3) it gives us a possibility to catch some swing moves before another heavy-move news. I did not say that the main EU north course is wrong (we may see 1.39xx in November), i just meant that this week could and should be a breakthrough or SL catcher. At the same time, subjectively i have bear transactions more than bull's, therefore may be inside of my mind I wish to find some explanations to hold my GU shorts at least till 1.6 or even 1.58 this week.

It doesn't scare me. As soon as we have a lower swing low, I will take partial profits, and as soon as we get a confirmed continuation upwards I will add more buys. Quite simple really. It's a very mechanical trade as it is completely detached from the mainstream USD and Euro risk events.

Theoretically i feel it, and i like this pair technical chart, but after several trades with it I don't know exactly why she moves some times so slooowly without any retrace (once i have to leave positions opened via weekend, that i do very rare, but next week retrace expectations were failed). Still have to lean some separate influence issues..

it is not an easy pair to trade when it is ranging, but when it is on a trend, you just have to follow it mechanically.

Hmm...didn't the FED mention of 7% UE rate as the END of the asset purchases NOT the START of tapering ?

It was logical in every way to expect the FED to start tapering in Sept. Bernanke DID mislead the markets. I'm a bit tired to explain all of it, maybe tomorrow.

You're right Lumesh, but that was based on a projection that the UE rate would reach 7% within 6 months of the beginning of the taper.
