No. I am waiting for E/U around 1.41x and U/CAD around 1.06x then will short EUR/CAD

Could be if E/U or U/CAD is making a turn here. Still waiting at 1.45x. Last short was S/O a bit painful.

On the Weekly still has more room to the upside if supported by EUR and CAD weakness.

that little micro had 3818 as a mid.. i see them at a turn often.. we had one bear one turn just like that when we went to 3570.. then to 3666 the last consolidation before 3739.

that micro has 3843.. if i get the chance maybe there. if not i got scalp s at 3808 i can hold.

you and your goddam triangles and green arrows pointing up and red arrows pointing down and then redrawing your trend lines and then show hey look at this up up up and then 4 hours later saying look at this down down down......and then showing a triangle today where price broke above saying now we don't short.....and then redrawing your trend lines again showing the break above did not happen.........what useless information.

Technically agreed but I still have doubt about CAD.

PA is not showing sign of hitting strong resistance. It has made a 3 years highs almost as E/U

If anyone cares, Citi FX's Asia trading report, mostly an update but some nice insights.

Citi FX:

The ebb and flow of USD trading resulted in strong turnover Thursday. Once again, USDJPY saw very high interest, despite flat performance, and so did AUD by way of selling. EUR activity was moreso concentrated on the pair, which was supported by broad, but short-term interest.

• As you know, many market participants like to account for every pip of movement by way of a fresh, breaking development. Thursday’s popular news flow covered a few subjects:

– Eurozone flash PMIs: French PMIs dented EUR’s strength; greater damage was done with German data. The former came in at 49.4 versus 50.1 expected and while the German manufacturing came in-line around 51.5, services disappointed at 52.3 versus 53.7 consensus.

– A LTRO misunderstanding:Reuters flashed a headline stating that ECB Executive Yves Mersch had said that a further LTRO might not be necessary. He actually said that it’s possible.

– Intervention warnings (and action): KRW and ILS were in the spotlight. See EM in Focus below.

– Tapering tantrums: A dovish advisor report made rounds saying that the bar for tapering was high; many tied this to USD selling in early NY.

• EURUSD leapt from 1.3780 to the session high of 1.3725 during the height of that tapering chatter but the move was moreso stop related.

• After finding support around 1.3760 following PMI data, it pushed higher only to find itself back under pressure in the NY open. But as short-term names realized that there were fewer stops on the downside towards 1.3780, than there were on the topside above 1.3800, they bought.

• Stops were left untouched at and above 1.3830, which is roughly the 61.8% retracement of the move from the 1.4940 high to the low of 1.2043 in July 2012.

• We are also not inclined to buy into the advisor hype since results of our poll - asking when the Fed will taper - have already been suggesting that the market has set a high bar for it.

• USDJPY remained in a tight range around the 200d MA (97.32) and is just slightly below there now. Flow-wise, we saw a strong bias to the downside led by real money and bank names.

• Still, a general lack of follow through to the downside has led CitiFX Technicals to take profit on its short USDJPY position (established on September 27 at 98.43).

• Our NY JPY trader notes that strong support also comes at 97.00 should the 200d give. So the case for USDJPY upside is decent and could be further supported if CrossJPY rebounds.

• “Remember, the trigger for the CrossJPY crash was the China repo rate matter, but so far I am not hearing anything serious and its more about seasonal factors,” says our trader.

• “So, any recovery in China repo situation and Shanghai stock market can bring risk-on momentum back, and AUDJPY and USDJPY can trade higher again.”

• Techs also took profit on its long EURUSD position, established on September 19 at 1.3554.

• “While there may not be a clear indication of a reversal at this stage (and we could still test 1.40+ on EURUSD), we believe a lot of the rally has already taken place,” says Techs. “Additionally we see very good support at 78.60-79.00 on the USD Index which was the initial target area.”

• The October round of monetary policy meetings from the Nordics brought considerably fewer surprises than some of those earlier this year. The Riksbank came in slightly more dovish than expected, pushing the first hike deeper into Q4-2014 and maintaining the near term easing bias.

• Later, the Norges Bank’s monetary policy statement hit a neutral tone, disappointing those expecting concern after the recent inflation dip. It cautioned against reading too much into shorter term volatility and is more focused on the trend. Net-net, Strategy sees it NOKSEK supported.

• Market positioning was again the name of the game in the Scandis as evidenced by an underwhelming reaction in USD pairs but long exits in EUR crosses. EURSEK hit a low of 8.7610 after its meeting and EURNOK fell from 8.1600 to 8.1128 after the Norges.

• As mentioned above, AUD was on the backfoot. This bias started in early European hours from 0.9660 and extended to a low near 0.9570 in NY. Selling interest was also seen in AUDJPY, while EURAUD settled a bit short of 1.4413 highs.

• Real money provided most of the supply in AUDUSD here, though we also saw good selling out of the leveraged community.

• It didn’t move markets but a few noted this WSJ blog, arguing that Australian Treasurer Joe Hockey’s recent policy changes could risk damping a nascent recovery in business confidence.

• There’s not a lot to say about GBP, though it got some attention in late NY trade off comments from Carney that the initial use of the BoE framework is likely to be limited.

• The UK CBI industrial surveys showed softer readings for output and order books in October. However, this has been a regular pattern in recent years: the order books series has weakened between September and October in 14 of the last 15 years.

• EURGBP looked set to rock and roll after appearing to break decisively above the 200d MA at 0.8535. However, after trading up to 0.8555, it drifted back towards 0.8520. The fact that the 50% retracement of the fall from 0.8770 to 0.8334 comes in at 0.8552 may be coincidental.

• USDCAD kept marching higher with stops done on the break of 1.0420. It now tests resistance at 1.0440. There are no major levels beyond that until the 1.0500 figure.

• US data had little to no impact. An unexpected rise in initial jobless claims to 350k was dismissed as California admitted to another week of challenges with accounting for backlogs, while the trade balance deficit was roughly in-line at USD38.8bn.
