This is the way the market really works, and this was a clear example of it.
"News" is more often an opportunity for the MMs to manipulate price the way they want to, rather than a reason to move it the way expected. The MMs are very greedy, deceiving and opportunistic price manipulators. If anyone did not believe so before, this is evidence staring you in the face. Market prices are determined by those with the money to control prices, and prices are what makes those folks profits, not what would be "dictated" by "news."
Forget a market where prices are reality based and controlled by supply and demand. That market does not exist except in imagination and in the lies of those representing "big money" when they speak about the market to all others that really have no clue.
This price action is a real "case maker" for the saying, "Trade what you see, not what you believe."
As Master Sonicdeejay says, "Let the Dragon and PA show the way." The SonicR Classic is a lower risk, more sure trade when the setup is a proper one. It does not catch all the moves but it proves itself time and again, and the use of well considered Scouts can help in that score from time to time.
The move on GU (attached) suggests a future opportunity. This pump will likely turn out to be a Pump & Dump because the volume on this push up does not compare to the previous sell-off volume, because the big volume in the push was near the top instead of near the bottom, and because the pump took price above a whole number which is where MMs like to build shorts. This all could lead to a H&S coming into play in the week(s) ahead. This currently "potential" H&S is forming up about as nicely as you will ever see!
