I usually don't trade on USDJPY But here what I tell you is I use trendlines but more than that I believe in finding critical area rejections with Horizontal lines. In below Image USDJPY is near rejections lime horizontal line as well as very close to both trendlines. In this type of situation, I usually let something happen, try to understand what price is doing, look for rejections, confirmations, etc and then trade as soon as the action starts.

Wonder who's going to process their food stamp requests and delivering them now that all the federal government employees are all gone. I agree with the possible ripple effect but I really don't care. As long as I can make a pip, they can turn the sky red. People were still making +ve pips when the 2008 financial crisis hit and people can certainly make pips again if another financial crisis hits due to this shutdown. For now I just want Bernake to say something bad about the US, government shutdown or tapering or QE or whatever new terms that they can invent (boy they are good at inventing new terms, aren't they?). Even though the gov. shutdown is nothing new anymore but somehow when the Fed Reserve Chairman says it, it just sounds a lot worse and the market reacts even stronger to that.

But then again Bernake might not say anything at all. This speech at 3:30 pm is just for a Conference at St. Louis. He usually says less at those conferences I find versus those Congressional hearings where he would say more (oh wait there is no Congress anymore; it's shut down) Nevertheless I will put in a stop-loss order in case.

Indeed, they would have brought the pair much higher if so...that's why i'm worried for longs at the moment.

They either know something preventing them from going long, or they don't bother trading this week (it'll make sense!)
