I only look on 4 hour and up and there's nothing right now on that that's particularly catching my attention. I screwed up this month missing some great opportunities because I dropped a position out of fear because a person I respected had a different opinion...never ever take tips from someone else. Right now I'm just waiting for a new setup to show, it's been pretty crap since that miss.

Well, I do not doubt that. Over time you'll figure out what's true and what isn't? That's called life. Nonetheless, whether somebody said something is notwithstanding of my own experiences, thoughts and adaptations. I wouldn't necessarily hold firm what someone said when they had a similar experience I had 80 years prior. He's just beat me to it. I guess what I am trying to say is what he said does not negate what will happen to you or I. We could follow his routine to the T and not have as much success or failure as he did.

Livermore gained and lost his entire fortune several times (as many traders have) and is regarded as one of the best traders in his lifetime. Could I follow his path and be quoted in nearly every trading editorial for the next 60 years?

Personal opinion is that he was more of a lucky gambler than a trader from what I read in the book...but hey, maybe what he told wasn't all. Meh, just interesting discussion.

I found it interesting. I read that he won his money in bull markets and lost it in bear markets and the crash of 29. What is unfortunate is when he shot himself he left his wife with nothing. He had $5M reportedly she couldn't access because the circumstance of his death

After further analysis I don't see any follow thru on these monthly engulfing candles. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if they end up closing around dojis.

In other words, despite looking scary, this bull move doesn't have any follow through. I'd be surprised if we get anything higher than a quick stop run over 1.3710 at the absolute most before a wave back down to the 1.2750 neighborhood.

Not really. I have a trade plan and know when to get in and out...but this person I really respect who does this for a full time living had a strong bearish bias on a market I was shorting and so I took profit way too early. It ended up going over 10x my risk before showing me an exit signal (amateur gap). Oh well, one more lesson to learn from.

It all looks great from up here.. I'm starting to look towards 1.2690 long term.... so let's see some bears now.

3500 was something I was targeting for a week, and longer..

If you keep on following trend, will lose very heavily someday. He went after trends, worked for him long way but switching from scalping techniques to trend following was a big mistake. He survived that long because he was in commodities

s/o my last s.. i did book a portion for 25 pips.. i am s again...with a stop just above the original 3533.x .. either another s/o or 3460+... 3451 is a mid.. 3439 is a smaller norm.. just scalping, and setting a b.e. 3451 and 39 could be a support. the mirror for 3460 is 3582/83... 415x on the chart is expected. r/r wise i rather L after 3102, if it happens before 415x target
