hi enzo

i have a question. as you know, i am trading original rules ie 7am BST (~1am EST) and leaving the trades to hit their trailing SL using trade manager.

it seems to me there is another time later on after the initial pre-london open trade that people seem to be placing trades, is this the case? please can you tell me if this second round of trades (im not talking about the lunchtime reversals) is a legitimate time that i am missing out on or is it just opportunistic trigger finger trading?

No. Best time to trade is 1am est time. Another great time to place a trade is 7:30 am est time. Other than that its a waste of time and effort.

damnit! Again, I take a huge loss! This is what happens when you listen to news! Everyone keeps saying the FOMC was going to be good for Dollar due to tapering. They sucker everyone in to believing it and then...BAM! They go the other way. WHY? Because this game is manipulated. You really think they want us to win? HELL NO!

From now on no more news! No more Listening to other threads or watching CNN. We will trade what we see on chart without assuming. Now, back to calming my mind and getting ready for tonight's trades.

I'm also guilty of doing this. I was short USD/JPY but I closed out, against my better judgement and went long because I listened to news. Burned me for 50 pips....

Lesson learned.

Enzo, I totally agree that the news is used to manipulate but one can use that to your advantage. Before any major news I close all positions that could be affected, Chose the pair that is most likely to have the most movement then, 2 minutes before the news I place 2 pending orders, one 10 pips long and the other 10 pips short and the SL for both where the price already is. As soon as the price triggers one of the pending orders I close the other one and TP before the retraction.

I was really really lucky; but i´m not happy i should be out of the market before the news... if it goes in the other way i....

OK lesson learned in the sweet way this time

Yes, since the news has passed and everyone has gotten the jitters out of their system, we should see more liquidity in the market.

US session is also notorious for ranging. I've had most of my losses during that time.
