gator gets good rr and trades kind of often. even if 37xx only has a 20% or 30% chance of coming through he'll have entries with stops tight enough to make it worth the risk and effort.

when i zoom out on my daily and weekly charts the eu looks heavy with room to fall. this past week might be a reversal but with the big weeks coming this month it might just be a flat little correction, which eu is often prone to.

But with the FED meeting this week, technical readings can become pretty useless, as the fate of the pair is now in Bernanke’s hands.

During the first two days of the upcoming week, the pair will likely keep the 100 pips range between 1.3240 and 1.3340, with choppy, nervous movements in between. On Wednesday, volume will likely decrease dramatically until the news, followed then by strong wide movements after their out.

To the upside, a strong advance above 1.3340 should signal a steady advance up to 1.3410/40 area, while a daily close above this last, exposes the 1.35 figure for the end of the week. On the other hand, breach of the 1.3240 support should expose 1.3180 first, while a break of this last should see the pair testing the 1.3100 figure, 38.2% retracement of the mentioned bullish run. Not yet seen, a break below this last should signal a 100 pips steady slide, down to key psychological 1.30 level.

So true! Hence i only look at the PA to show me if a level can/will hold or not.

some people call them levels, some call them zones. they do exist and they are battle areas. price consolidate in battle zones (because of a lot of fights inside the zone), and go without much hindrance from one zone to another zone.
Not sure how long these numbers have been out but, apparently BIS just did its 3-year average daily turnover data, and the numbers are simply incredible in comparison to 2010. Inflation baby. Where has all that new money gone? Well, straight into forex bets, you betcha! The #1 way to stabilize any economy. Trade, trade, trade. Even if it is speculative invisible exchanges, and not "real world" supply/demand.

The Economist drew from the latest survey of the Bank of International Settlements to create this Great Graphic that shows the average daily turnover of the top 16 currencies.


Average daily turnover is a mind-numbing $5.3 trillion. In three days foreign exchange turnover is sufficient to cover world trade in a year.


The BIS conducts the survey every three years. The last survey in 2010 found daily turnover was about $4 trillion. The US dollar's turnover alone is larger than that now. In 2007, the average daily turnover was $3.3 trillion. In six years then, the turnover has increased by 60%. Some observers are concerned that the post-crisis regulatory environment was going to curtail financial activity. Evidence must be sought elsewhere, outside of foreign exchange, the largest of the capital markets.


Despite cries that the dollar is being replaced by the euro or Chinese yuan, the BIS data shows nothing of the kind. The dollar is by far and way the most actively traded currency and is on one side of 87% of foreign exchange trades. The euro and yen have kept their status as #2 and #3.


Of particular note is the rise of the Mexican peso and Chinese yuan into the top ten most actively traded currencies. It is the first time. A rising tide lifts all boats, so to speak. Increased turnover means that it is not a zero-sum exercise. That is, the increased turnover of the peso and yuan does not mean a diminished role for the major currencies.
Be hopeful in a winning position, and fearful in a losing position.
