Typically, I test everything I try for a couple of months before releasing, or release with the disclaimer that it hasn't been forward tested.

Back testing in meta 4, especially with M1 traders is worthless. With exception of seeing where and when triggers take place, the forward test results almost never match the backtests.

I found this out early on in testing. Ran a grid trader that showed amazing results in a backtest. Woke up one morning to see that my account was 3 pips from busting and had to manually close trades once in profit, not when the EA would have taken. If I would have continued to let it run, would have been destroyed.

Another IA script I was running, I left unattended for market open one week. A few hours after leaving it run, I seen that it had taken over 200 trades, rapid fire, closing them as soon as they opened. Drained $80 on a micro account losing spread trading 10 cent lots...

I have a couple that I work with live and still interject some manual into these. Close all trades come Friday and take what the market has given...

These can be very profitable, but knowing the risks and being able to work with them is of utmost importance.

Exactly that is why I am using an EA. lol

Next week, I will be on a road trip and will not watch the market for a whole week.

It was not too long ago when one could do an easy scalp on the opening gap 30-40 pips or more. I haven't seen that kind of gap in a long time. I always look though...
