forgot to add that 105 was also a monthly support pivot, this trade was a risk of 2 pips if you set limit(yes 2!), could drop harder as well but some buyers steped in.
I am bullish atm and it cost me 5 pips risk. If you are not in, it is better to wait for the news and as always trade the outcome.

Thanks, its useful. My trades were taken on H4 TF's, so i'm looking to the medium-long term. I'd certainly like to hold them open, but they're only ~90 pips (900 points) in profit and you know what NFP can be like! It might just be an opportunity to close out and re-enter at a better price.

My research on nfp is do not trade before or few min after nfp. But yes it often reverse prev med term trend, if she fall just before nfp I would love to find a good entry for long. When price pull away from volatile range it tends to stay that way for next few days.

also ea broke support. the au went to 9171 as expected. it hit 74... so if the au drops.. the eu should drop harder. or if the eu rises the au should should rise more compared to eu

I usually find it does both. In the case of the EUR/JPY that is..

I couldn't agree with you more.

It's gotta be 3 years since I have even attempted a trade during NFP.

The last time I did, took a trade, was up 30, before my broker would let me out, was down them same 30...

Thought, fuck this!!

If ya haven't made your goal throughout the rest of the week, ya probably not gunna make it here either.

Different thing with the yen pairs....it usually is a risk on/off, yen selling/buying.

Its more tricky with 'high' yield currencies...i wouldn't trade gbp/nzd, or aud/nzd during a big US news event.
