right now we have two very clear rejections at 97 in the 4 hour momentum indicator made a higher high while USD/JPY made a higher low best way to play these shorts may be GBP/JPY wait for retraces higher in that pair to short see divergences in that pair for short also see it in GBP/USD while I don't think the USD/JPY is bullish it could go to 99 possibly where I expect the down move to continue

Not sure how to get to 104.. next data isn't due till NY open and it can go either way then.. Long for London session with TP 98.542 and SL 97.006

and sorry - I felt asleep with my Buy button pressed, market should be bit more calm now. On a more serious note - Nikkei going up, XXX/JPY going... up. That's one for ya, Bank of Japan. Not sure about correlation between USD/JPY and GBP/JPY - if i were to judge by pure technicals, I would call shorts now.

I hope that not all SLs were consumed by that move, thus we all see green pips by the end of the day.

Short again. Shoulda been long really but ehhh, let's go to 97 now More comfortable being short anyway

Been sitting on longs for months US/JPY
been taking shorts EUR/YEN,small ones
playing the dips an waves

Sort of a hedge,with EUR/US also

It was easy until the YEN hit the 103.6

but its been hard to figure out what is happening

since it pulled back:nerd:

okay. found one overall tech config that fits .uj today: draw a line from the high @ 1843 est yesterday to the low @ 1520 est today, and you get an inner trendline with 6 confirmations. that puts the inner tl just under 98.50 in London tomorrow --- and, if it swings as far above as it did below yesterday noon (~60p), it would hit 98.95 target (the 75.4 fib of last weeks down move) before Frankfurt.

looks like it will swing a little below the inner tl soon, so placing buy order @ 98 w/97.86 SL and 98.90 TP ... afterward, hope to catch a little bit of retrace

I trade momentum too, after big news when all x/jpy goes in the same direction.

CK84 thanks for the charts. Yesterday's knee jerk to the Philly closed a host of weak dollar longs across the pairs and this pair is very sensitive to US equities and news, not to mention international equities. I think we all know where we are going longer term (months) but today we are in the shadow of yesterday's bearish engulfing day on this UK feed:

Notice today's rally culled by 97.75 so far, but I read that major 98 options expire at the New York 10 am fix and so bears should take care. Also it's Friday so hold on to your hat.
