USDJPY chart. a little messy. it tried 3 times to attack the pink line and failed. it may want to attack for the 4th time, but i think the chance is rare.

breaking the support at 97.6 implies that it even cannot go up for the 4th try.

only problem I have with this move is the low liquidity... spread was wider than normal all along.. so we'll see..
from pa stand point we had a liquidity gap at 3285 that was filled... but now we left one behind at 3265... it'll come for it later..

so why don't I just hedge my (still underwater) long with a short to there so I can sleep better?

oh no, not again.. just read the other post where I described how I defended my long on the way down... there are two type of hedges.. one out of fear, the other used with different volumes (not in this case) and different targets.. A hedge will not save you if you don't know what you're doing, just as a SL will not... I'm really not looking forward to this debate..

here's the thing: USE STOP LOSS.. it took me many thousands of hours to trade this way.. I don't trade mechanical... unless I scalp.. that's a different discussion..

There is another technique to get out of a bad trade.. hedge it with a little higher volume, and then as the profit accumulates, slowly take profit on the good one, and in the same time close the same amount on the loser little by little.. it can be done, but that's really advanced stuff..

and, that being said.. if one trades without a SL, his whole trading strategy should be built around that fact..
