we are going back to 3330 i believe

possibly to 1.34, although probably not today

Not Ubuntu, Lubuntu...that's LXDE, not that god-forsaken useless Unity-POS. I've been playing around with that that past couple of days, and guess what... if you don't drop your pants and basically hand over anything you do to Canonical yourself, Unity doesn't do anything for you...
I'd be surprised, if the desktop version is still being maintained by Canonical in about 3 years.

Iceweasel is the same as Firefox, just rebranded because of the underlying license of Debian. The same is true for Icedove/Thunderbird. For the working machine, I rarely use a browser anyway...
Debian is just the distribution I grew up with, I should have done much more with Redhat-based flavours, for Scientific-Linux is the way to go for a productive machine. The derivatives (CentOS, Stella <- this one rocks) are all based on upstream Redhat. Long term support for about 7 years, no blink-blink, just work to be done there.

tried many linux flavors and finally settled on Lubuntu. It is very lightweight and fast. Only needed a simple fast machine for trading, no junkies.

One thing I like about forex is that it always TENDS to come back from where it leaves. If one's positions are well calculated, r/r is at least 1:2, and has a longer term vision / patience...............................50% fib pays a decent return. The only issue is you don't know if a cycle will complete in one minute or one century.

okay. i personally have some version issues with mozilla --- Iceweasel and Icedove are only available in a mozilla equivlent that is ~8 - 10 versions out of date... not sure what problems may turn up.

I know it is, LXDE just doesn't like me, or vice versa. It's strange, because as soon as the Whisker-menu is installed, it's fine.
*buntu is a no-go for me, because of the short lifetime-cycles. I'm lazy, and when something is running, I hate change.

Agree. Empirically, >90% of trades come back from what I have seen.

Timing plays more with something like the Yen for obvious reasons. Over time the likelihood of revisiting price drops, something else to consider.

But hey, no holy grail.
Even the worst trade can close with profit. Just give it time.

...just checked out Scientific-Linux! in all my reading about linux over the past months, never came across it. looks interesting - you're a great resource! and thanks to ffle for the Lubuntu reference... didnt' come across that either

You can use backports.debain.org in order to get a more current version, if you want to. Just don't fall for Chromium... root-access for Google on my machine?
