friend this my first post in FF .

Have a look at EUR/CAD, CAD/JPY and CRUDE then put the pieces together might get a reasonable logical clue. Gold has no direct correlation with CAD at all.

I dont think the market follows any real sense or logic.. I know the how but I dont know the why. Why 1 must plus 1... or minus 2 for that matter.. =/

Maybe you just haven't noticed it yet. My entire strategy follows this IF/ELSE logic... because when X does happen, there is a high probability of Y happening. For instance... when a LL happens there is a high probability that the next LH will be formed in supply of the previous either HH or LH, just slightly lower.

Of course defining true HH/LL/HL/LH can be difficult at times...

There are many times where price setups happen months or weeks out. For instance... I caught the top of the current down move... filled @ 3390 and experienced a 10 pip'ish draw down. I was waiting for that price since late June. That doesn't mean we are at the next top but my system says we are... and it allows me to lessen the risk now that we have a bear bar on the daily as well.

That sounds like a good semi-deterministic system but also, it still describes the how not the why..

Is the why important? Do I need to know? Can a LL also form a HH? Yet, since the last HH, we only had a HL i think... let me check..

The why... I really do not care about. I could say supply this or demand that... but in reality I don't know. The truth is, the market is a culmination of so many different things that I do not consider it a good use of time to answer the why. Maybe if I was teaching a class... I dunno.

The market also loves to make HH > LL > HH. The lower low suckers in a bunch of people, but in reality it's just setting itself up for a higher spring.

I guess what I am saying is... there are a million in 1 ways to skin this kitty cat. Just because I do it one way doesn't mean it is the best or the most reliable. To me it's all numbers and probabilities. To attila its something else. To you it's something else.

Find something that you recognize price doing consistently, and repeatably and take advantage of it.

Edit: I like Atilla's answer of the 'why'. To frack as many people as possible. LOL.

Scientists have no idea why gravity exists and works the way it does. Only how it does. This provides a base for them to understand it and potentially use it to their advantage.

Why... is philosophical.

How... is mechanical.

They are making their money by being market makers.

I think that's another misconception.. The wife used to work for a market maker company, and guess what.. that department was losing money consistently.. the way they were making money, was through all the fees waved and all the other perks(being a market maker company) helping their prop traders be more profitable than normal.. So adding it all up they were profitable..

Also, banks lose money too.. to other banks..

I agree with you.. At this moment in time, I'm still new at this.. Say.. to turn at say 1.34 would seem strange to me did something change other than the price? Yup it turned before the last time but it also didnt turn before even longer ago.. I have yet mastered the how and where so why should I jump in?... Of course with experience and repeated cycles, you just know it and dont wonder about the why..

Ok I think I'm starting to be annoying.. I shall leave the why as it is..

Yea.. but markets are man made.. the tides dont turn at 1.34M as at wish, there are other factors in place.. Btw, out of topic, they speculate masses exists due to the Higgs Field which can be proven to exist by the Higgs Boson Particle, it gravity maybe an interaction of the Higgs Field or a particle by itself.. the scientists are still looking..

pretty much yes..it feeds off that.. there is nothing in this world that will give you the short cut to the money... it's money we're talking about here... you have to be smarter than everybody else.. why is that you ask? simple.. because then you just go to the market and take all the money you want.. how can some think that comes easy is beyond me..

if these were all that simple, then there would be no market..

Your good man. Your asking questions, even if the responses are not accurate of your views right now. What's important is that we get you studying price and it's behavior. It takes on average 5 years to start becoming consistently profitable, and I was no exception to this rule.

Higs Boson is pretty sweet. In one of my crazy, out of this world that has no basis in science theories... I posited that if we could devise a way to strip an object (and therefore it's associated matter) of the higgs boson temporarily... a molecule without mass can then travel at the speed of light. Wouldn't that be something.

Market Analysts get paid to speculate, without actually speculating. They are consistently wrong too!

Maybe that's the safe bet?

It cracks me up, some years ago when it all started.. some scientist go To George W. and say this: "Mr. President, we need a couple of several billion dollars so we can start looking for the God Particle"... just plot their predictions as a moving average, and you should be fine.
